Harris was still sleeping when his phone started ringing.Rachel, who was lying on his chest, frowned in her sleep. The sound was bothering her.So she moved a little, almost climbing on his body and hugged him tighter. She then mumbled with a sleepy and hoarse voice, “Babe, pick it up, it’s disturbing me.”“Forget about it,” Harris said in a quiet voice and added. “Just sleep.”He didn’t even check who was calling. He just reached out to his phone on the bed stand and silenced the phone, then pulled Rachel closer and closed his eyes again.About an hour later, Harris slowly opened his eyes. He lazily reached for his phone and checked the time. His eyes widened a little when he saw that it was already 9 a.m. They had both overslept. This wasn’t like him. Before getting married, he used to wake up early, even when he barely got any sleep. But ever since he married Rachel, his mornings had changed. Maybe it was because his insomnia was getting better or maybe it was just her presence th

Hilary was still sitting beside Freda as he watched over her quietly. She was still unconscious, but her breathing had become steady and her body was no longer hot like before, instead her face looked more peaceful. He didn’t want to leave her side, but when he heard the sound of the doorbell, he knew he had to get up to get it. After all, there were no maids or butlers in the house to answer the door, so Hilary stood up slowly and walked out of the room as he made his way through the quiet hallway and down the stairs. The doorbell rang again, but this time, it was gentle. He opened the front door and was surprised to see his parents, even though he knew they were coming. His parents who were standing there smiled at him warmly. His father was holding little Rapheal in his arms as he was fast asleep. His little head was resting on his grandfather’s shoulder, breathing softly.Hilary’s eyes softened at the sight. He quickly stepped aside so they could come in. “Mum, Dad. You are he

Hilary felt really happy seeing his family. The sadness he was feeling was long gone due to the fun he was having with his family.Rachel, who was still sitting close to Mr Davis, was dragged away by Harris as he sat with her, while giving his father a cold look.Mr Davis was speechless and threw a dirty look to his son, but Harris just smirked and replied back with a mocking look.Their action didn’t go unnoticed by Genevieve and Hilary who watched the men fight with their stares.Seeing that Rachel was now seated with Harris, Genevieve had no choice than to seat back close to her husband.Meanwhile, Hilary too sat down again, and for the first time in a long while, the sadness he carried didn’t feel so heavy. For just a little while, the burden of worry and pain was replaced with warmth, the kind that only family could bring.Mr. Davis leaned back and looked around the room, clearly pleased. “This feels like home,” he said with a smile on his face.Hilary nodded in agreement and s

After Genevieve whispered those soothing words to Freda, she glanced at Hilary and gave him a small nod telling him it was time to apologize with his wife.Hilary quietly smiled and wiped the tears from his eyes. He drew in a slow breath, and walked quietly toward the bed. His heart was pounding, but he knew his apologies were going to mean a lot to her, so walking toward her, he stopped just a step away from the bed and called out gently. “Freda.”Hearing her name from his mouth, Freda flinched. She was afraid of what he was about to say, so her grip around Genevieve tightened as she was really afraid of what was coming next.Genevieve, who noticed her stiff movement gave her a gentle smile and patted her back softly to assure her. “It’s okay sweetheart, Just listen to him.” She said gently.Although Freda was scared, she still nodded her head, but she didn’t dare stare at him.Hilary knew her fear, so he didn’t blame her at all, instead he knelt down so he could be closer to her. “

After the hugs, they all saw that Freda was now asleep.Although they didn’t have the heart to wake her up, they had no other option because they all needed to eat and she couldn’t be left aside.“Mum, has Rapheal taken his bath?” Rachel suddenly asked, since Rapheal was asleep when they came.“Yes, darling, he has. The maids bathe him with his grogginess,” Genevieve replied to her and glanced toward the couch where Freda lay while breathing softly. “Hilary, we will be waiting for you downstairs. Bathe Freda and come downstairs to join us, and make sure to be very careful.” She warned him and said,“Okay, Mum,” Hilary nodded his head and responded.Feeling satisfied with his answer, Genevieve leaned in to give Freda a gentle kiss on the forehead then softly said to Hilary. “We will leave her in your hands.” After saying this, Geneviev left with Mr Davis and Harris, while Rachel came over and touched Hilary’s shoulder and said softly . “If you need help, call me.”“I will manage,” Hila
