After Hilary spoke, the living room became silent and after a while the doorbell rang.

Hilary sighed and quietly got up from the couch as he made his way towards the door.

His steps were slow and tired, and his body was feeling heavier with every move he takes.

Without thinking much, he walked toward the door to open it.

But from behind, his mother’s voice rang even though he was absentminded.

“Son,” Genevieve called out, “you really need to get a maid or at least a butler. You can’t be doing everything by yourself.” She said, and then in a softer voice that wasn’t too loud she muttered, “Thank God I came with three maids.” Immediately, a thoughtful smile appeared on her face as a new idea came to her.

“Looks like l the maids I brought with me wouldn’t could stay here and help. That way, Hilary wouldn’t have to struggle with the housework while Freda was still unwell. She whispered to herself, but it was still heard by Mr Davis, who only shook his head in response.

Hilary felt really happy seeing his family. The sadness he was feeling was long gone due to the fun he was having with his family.Rachel, who was still sitting close to Mr Davis, was dragged away by Harris as he sat with her, while giving his father a cold look.Mr Davis was speechless and threw a dirty look to his son, but Harris just smirked and replied back with a mocking look.Their action didn’t go unnoticed by Genevieve and Hilary who watched the men fight with their stares.Seeing that Rachel was now seated with Harris, Genevieve had no choice than to seat back close to her husband.Meanwhile, Hilary too sat down again, and for the first time in a long while, the sadness he carried didn’t feel so heavy. For just a little while, the burden of worry and pain was replaced with warmth, the kind that only family could bring.Mr. Davis leaned back and looked around the room, clearly pleased. “This feels like home,” he said with a smile on his face.Hilary nodded in agreement and s

Hilary was still sitting beside Freda as he watched over her quietly. She was still unconscious, but her breathing had become steady and her body was no longer hot like before, instead her face looked more peaceful. He didn’t want to leave her side, but when he heard the sound of the doorbell, he knew he had to get up to get it. After all, there were no maids or butlers in the house to answer the door, so Hilary stood up slowly and walked out of the room as he made his way through the quiet hallway and down the stairs. The doorbell rang again, but this time, it was gentle. He opened the front door and was surprised to see his parents, even though he knew they were coming. His parents who were standing there smiled at him warmly. His father was holding little Rapheal in his arms as he was fast asleep. His little head was resting on his grandfather’s shoulder, breathing softly.Hilary’s eyes softened at the sight. He quickly stepped aside so they could come in. “Mum, Dad. You are he

After they finished dressing, Harris noticed Rachel’s hair was still wet from the shower. So without saying a word, he opened the drawer from the vanity table and picked up the hair dryer and walked toward her. “Come here,” he said.Rachel blinked at him and asked . “What are you doing?”“Helping you dry your hair,” he replied simply, plugging in the dryer as he signaled her with his hand.Rachel smiled and walked toward the chair and sat down, letting him stand behind her. As he gently ran the hairdryer through her hair, his other hand softly combed through the strands, making it painless for her.“You are being very sweet today,” Rachel couldn’t help but say with a blissful smile on her face.“I’m always sweet,” Harris replied to her, pretending to sound offended.Rachel saw his reaction from the mirror and chuckled. She giggled and joked with him as she said, “Mmm, sometimes.”“Looks like I need to be extra sweet for you to know”. He softly said as the noise of the hair dryer fil

Harris was still sleeping when his phone started ringing.Rachel, who was lying on his chest, frowned in her sleep. The sound was bothering her.So she moved a little, almost climbing on his body and hugged him tighter. She then mumbled with a sleepy and hoarse voice, “Babe, pick it up, it’s disturbing me.”“Forget about it,” Harris said in a quiet voice and added. “Just sleep.”He didn’t even check who was calling. He just reached out to his phone on the bed stand and silenced the phone, then pulled Rachel closer and closed his eyes again.About an hour later, Harris slowly opened his eyes. He lazily reached for his phone and checked the time. His eyes widened a little when he saw that it was already 9 a.m. They had both overslept. This wasn’t like him. Before getting married, he used to wake up early, even when he barely got any sleep. But ever since he married Rachel, his mornings had changed. Maybe it was because his insomnia was getting better or maybe it was just her presence th

Hilary rushed into the bathroom and filled a bowl with warm water, making sure it wasn’t too hot. He grabbed a clean soft towel from the linen cabinet and hurried back to the bedroom where Freda was lying silently without moving her body. His chest tightened at the sight of her weak look. She looked so fragile and small, wrapped in the big duvets of their bed. He couldn’t remember the last time he had seen her like this.Hilary sighed softly and shook his head lightly to clear his thoughts away.“Freda needs me now”. He chanted to keep his gaze focused as he kept the bowl of water on the table. He dipped the towel into the bowl to soak, before squeezing it gently , then walked back to her side and sat down beside her.He gently touched her face and her dry lips as he softly whispered, “I’m here now my love, I have got you now.”After saying this, he lifted his trembling hand which was holding the towel and began wiping her forehead, cheeks, and neck. Her skin was burning, but he
