Marly POV It had been a couple of days since the attack. Everything was getting back to normal; or as normal as it could get. Carson POV I finally saw the King and Queen enter the ceremony hall, smiling at the people who stood as they entered. All bared their necks to the King and Queen who made their way to the front stage to stand with me as Marly entered the hall. The doors had closed after the King and Queen made their entrance. Once they had their positions, the King gestured to the guards to open the doors and permit Marly to enter the hall. As the doors opened, I expected to see her standing there. But she was not. Marly POV The pain in my head was excruciating. I could not open my eyes, but felt tears track out the corners as I recalled what had happened before I passed out. “Carson?” I managed to mumble but he did not respond. My heart started to beat faster, as I tried to open my eyes, once again, but with no luck. I slipped back into unconsciousness, waking some time later. The headache had improved slightly, and I was able to crack my eyes open. I quickly shut them as the bright light was causing me pain. “Hello?” I whispered, as I heard a shuffling to my right. I was laying on something hard, but I did not smell antiseptic. I was not in a hospital, but I felt like I needed one. “I can hear you breathing. Who are you?” I demanded a little more strongly. Marly POV “It is true. You are her brother,” the Rogue King repeated. The man stood there in shock. “You are joking, right?” he asked, seeking some type of reasonable explanation for what he was hearing. “Not at all. She is your sister; soon to be my mate,” he stated confidently. The man walked away from us, not saying a word, before turning back and coming to stand in front of me. “We are twins?” he asked. I nodded, “Yes,” I replied softly. He simply stared at me. “All of these years, I have felt like I was missing something. Years where I felt pain, when I had no reason to. Was that you?” he asked. “I do not know for certain, but I did experience a lot of pain over the years from abuse I took at the hands of my non biological parents,” I admitted. He looked sad, “Did you feel anything?” he asked. “I felt like I was missing something. But I was also hoping there was an explanation for why my family hated me so much,”

Marly POV It was almost midnight. The nerves in my stomach were bouncing around, almost making me ill. I had been waiting for what felt like forever, but it had not been that long. I was dressed in a black top, and black leggings which I had found in the drawers full of clothes. My hair was in a tight bun, and I had black sneakers on my feet. I did not know if I would be able to shift into Layla. I had still not heard from her, and I worried something drastic had happened. But I could not focus on that for the moment. Right now, I needed to focus on escaping. As the clock struck midnight, I heard a silent click in my room. I had been holding my breath, waiting for what I did not know. But I followed the sound to the patio door. I looked down and what was once locked, was now unlocked. I looked around outside, looking for whoever had unlocked the door but there was nobody.
