EMILY'S POV. The atmosphere in the room became thicker, and I felt smaller as my father's gaze rested on me. "Emily, it is no longer avoidable." He said, pulling me out of my train of thoughts. "What do you mean?" I muttered. "There is a threat to make another major shareholder, CEO. We have worked so hard to keep this company afloat, and we can't have it being snatched away from us now. The Russos have offered their assistance, and we wouldn't reject it." "You confuse me. What business do the Russos have with us or the company?" DANTE'S POV. As soon we arrived the airport, I pulled out my phone from my pocket and dialed Vito's number. One ring, and he picked up. "Don." "Tell them not to touch a hair on that bastard's body. I returned to Italy on short notice because of him. I will finish him up myself." "Yes, Don." He replied, and I ended the call. My men and I walked to the cars that had pulled up before us, and I hopped right in. "Welcome back, Don." Julio, the chaffeur greeted, giving a curt nod in my direction. "Thank you, Julio." EMILY'S POV For days, after I was unceremoniously sent out of the Ferrari mansion, I had been at my maternal cousin, Agatha's place. I was finally pulled out of my hiding place, when I saw the recent news flying everywhere on the internet. My father had officially announced my marriage to Marco Russo, without my consent. As I walked into the living room, my father looked up at me in disappointment. Very much expected. "The prodigal daughter finally returns home." EMILY'S POV. "It's a beautiful morning, not so?" Marco asked, and I simply gave a nod in response. It was one week since my father coerced and blackmailed me into accepting to marry this man. DANTE'S POV "Any news yet?" I looked up from the file on my desk, to see Alexa poking her head through my door. I almost let out a groan. The girl was stressing me out, asking the very same question everyday, for the past three weeks. "And yet again Alexa, no." I eventually groaned, making her giggle. EMILY'S POV. I was mad. So mad. But most of all, I was scared. I sat on one of the benches outside the lab, as I waited. They had taken a sample of my urine for analysis, to know whether or not I was pregnant. Pregnant?! How the hell did I even get here? One minute I was praying to be rescued from this marriage with Marco, and the next, I was praying to not be pregnant for a totally different man. Was my life a joke?! "Miss Collombo, your result is ready." I heard someone say above me, and I literally boiled. That damned name had caused me more harm than good. Collombo. I should have left when I could, but I couldn't let my mother rot away in jail. I just couldn't. "What does it say?" I calmly asked the lab scientist who stood beside me.
