Freya's p.o.v It's 12:00 a.m., and it's my eighteenth birthday today. It's been twelve good years without that noise — the one that sings at my door step every birthday morning and sings me my favorite birthday songs. A noise. That has been what I tell him each time he comes in with a trumpet in his mouth, but to think I'd be sitting on my bed the moment I turn eighteen only to miss that noise is pretty overwhelming. I was just six when the news of my father's death spread like wild fire. He used to work as a truck driver and once, I had heard that he used to be a hunter too— before my birth. My mother died at childbirth and for all I know, she was beautiful—her pictures confirm it too. My father hardly spoke about her, perhaps it's because I was so young and always get pretty emotional each time he did and he hates to see cry. Freya's p.o.v "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that, Freya," Evelyn apologized as we chatted about my journey to Luparia in the kitchen while I got busy with preparing lunch. She insisted on lending a helping hand as other maids got super busy with cleaning the manor and other chores. Just like humans, Elina and Evelyn attend schools too, but Evelyn would be having her class later than her sister today. I have been able to learn a few things from them some of which include magic. Perhaps, that contributed to my senses starting to get hyper these days. "It's fine, Evelyn." It's been weeks since I reached Luparia(a term used by the humans/Homines for where the werewolves live in general) and it's safe to know that I am now pretty much acquainted with a lot of things here. I know there's no way out of here even if I dare to— not after what Evelyn had told me about the Fenrirs' guarding the wolfgates. I would literally be putting my life at risk—every risk imaginable.

Freya's p.o.v Today will be my last day at Madame Selene's manor as her maid or slave. I am now been handed over to the Alpha king. According to her, I am his mate and he will be solely responsible for my well- being henceforth. If Madame Selene can trust him enough to give me to him, I believe I can trust him too, even though I have never met him or know what he looks like. I will soon be transported to the court where the mating ceremony would be happening. I looked at myself once more in the mirror in my room as Evelyn and Elina as well as my other human mates in the manor came to bid their final good bye. My mind drifted back to my experience at the wild the other time as I gaze upon the satchel hanging down in my room—the strangeness and everything that revolved around that moment.
