REGRET UNTIL SHE SAYS GOODBYE のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 201 - チャプター 210

DEREK’S POVOne would have thought Derek would head directly to the elevator and step in, after the way he’d ignored Freeman but he didn’t step into the elevator immediately and stilled his steps at the sliding doors.Everyone else that was shuffling behind him stopped as well. Freeman braked so hard he nearly lost his footing. He had been closest to Derek, and the latter’s unexpected stop had nearly caused him to run into him but out of fear, he’d done everything to avoid that.Slowly, Derek turned around, gripping the phone he’d called Sara with earlier tightly in his hands. He swerved his head to the side until they landed on a woman in a corner of the lobby. His eyes narrowed faintly while Freeman took a step forward, glancing in the same direction. “Mr Marshall, is there a problem?”He finally found what or specifically who Derek was looking at a second later and then, he let out a nervous laughter, “Mr Marshall, she’s no one else important, just our liason officer. Do you need m

SARA'S POV"No, let me go!" I yelled as Laurent pressed heavily into me, breathing hard.He had both of my wrists clasped atop my head while the entirety of his weight was suffocatingly pressed down on me."Let me go, you bastard," I hissed, struggling against his hold with the little strength I had left in me.His hands reached behind my back for the zipper of my dress and I screamed again, thrashing hard. The aggressive motions I was displaying helped to clear a little bit of the fog in my head but I remained locked tightly in place.I snarled at him and hissed intermittently, gnashing my teeth to throw him off.Slowly, because of the effort it took him to keep me at bay, he slid the zipper of my blouse down slowly, each inch sounding too loud in my ears."Laurent," I tried again now, in a voice that was barely audible. "Please think about this. You don't want to do anything that would ruin your image."The scum had no image that was pleasing or attractive to me, but the situation h

THIRD PERSON'S POV Alaric reached the doorway just in time to see Derek launch a hard hit at Laurent's face but that wasn't what stilled his steps. It was the look on Derek's face.A normal person would have their face contorted with rage but he was way too calm. His face practically was expressionless, even as he dealt blow after blow to Laurent. He had to say, he was surprised to find Laurent here and his anger was stimulated too, upon seeing Sara with him.No soothsayer was needed to tell him what happened. Sara's limp figure on the bed and Derek's body hovering over Laurent while he delivered blow after blow to him was enough indication of what had gone down before his arrival.Instead of running straight to Sara like he would have done had he not met this scene, he paused, because this scene was one he didn't recognize.Derek had Laurent held up by the front of his shirt and he held him upright, long enough to deal another sharp blow that was sure to have snapped Laurent back to

SARA'S POVDerek wasn't coming to me, he was already here.Everything I'd though I imagined and all that I had convinced myself was an illusion was real. The figure I had seen wasn't Alaric, it was indeed Derek and it was him who had saved me from Laurent. That realization slammed heavily into my mind and for a long minute, I froze, unable to move.I couldn't even breathe. My thought circled around Danielle's last statement, "Vienna. Mommy, Daddy's coming to you!"Derek was here. In Vienna. And, the man I had seen last night was him.As unbelievable as it sounded to me, I had to believe it, because Danielle wouldn't lie.She had no reason to."Mommy, I miss you so much." Danielle's voice cut into my scattered thoughts. She breathed heavily into the receiver. "I wanted to call you in the morning, but Daddy said you were busy and that I should call you later. Nanny isn't here and I can't use her phone, so I asked Aunt Rina to lend me hers."Her voice lowered as though she had cupped the

SARA'S POVThe silence between us was so loud, I could hear my own breathing.I became so painfully aware of it.Derek was just at calm in that infuriating way that he always was, in the way that made it seem as though nothing could ever ruffle him or make him act out of character. It was a trait I envied sometimes but also abhorred but right now, I was done hoping he would change. I had done too many of that in the past, none of which yielded any result. This character of his always made me reflect on myself and left me with a contrasting feeling in which I likened myself to a broken ceramic that had been pieced together wrongly. His gaze flicked over me again. It wasn't sharp, neither was it assessing. It was just the same watchful look as always."Since you're awake, you should have something to eat then."My eyes flickered. That was it.No question asking after my wellbeing. Nothing. He didn't even acknowledge what happened or how he'd stepped in to save me.It was almost like it
