REGRET UNTIL SHE SAYS GOODBYE のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 231 - チャプター 240

THIRD PERSON'S POV Sara was up earlier than she needed to.The apartment was quiet and soft streams of the awakening sun's ray filtered in through the curtains, shedding light into the room. She reached for her phone the moment she sat upright, not knowing exactly what it was she wanted to check. The blank screen stared back at her for a couple of minutes and then she placed her phone back where she picked it from, after confirming she had no unread messages and calls. From her room, after showering and dressing up, she moved to the kitchen on autopilot, switching between checking Danielle's bags to make sure she had packed everything and checking that her own daily required items were packed in her bag.Alongside that, was making breakfast for both herself and Danielle. If it was just her, she would have opted to head to work like that and just grab a quick cup of coffee on her way there but Danielle was still with her and today was the day she was to take her back to Derek's house.

SARA'S POV"Rina, who did you tell?" I repeated, when I heard nothing from her end even after waiting a full minute."Relax," She responded quickly this time then paused again before saying, "I didn't mention your name or Derek's. You guys were kept anonymous but it is true that I did talk to someone about it.""That's not the point," I heaved a deep breath. "Why would you...""I didn't identify you, if that's what you are worried about," Rina cut in quickly again.I took in another breath of air while she went on to explain."I just thought about it and it didn't make sense. Divorce proceedings don't usually take this long unless there was another reason..." "There is a reason..." I wanted to interrupt and tell her that there in fact was a reason. Just in case she didn't recollect me telling her about all the reasons Attorney Cross had given me for the delay but Rina cut in again with a scoff before I could."You're so gullible." My face changed immediately and I moved to ask her w

THIRD PERSON'S POVThe anger that had been brewing in Sara's chest didn't lessen even after she walked out of Attorney Cross' office. If anything, it intensified and by the time she walked up to her car where she'd parked it, her jaw hurt from her hard she had been clenching it.It fueled her to head to Derek's home and by the time she got there, it was well into the afternoon. She didn't get out immediately, but sat in her car for a couple of minutes, trying to get a grip on herself. Her hands held the steering wheel with a tight grip as she let out slow and deep exhales of breath. When she left here earlier this morning, she never imagined that she would return so soon and certainly not for the reason that she was here. She let out another deep exhale then stepped out of the car and locked the door."Mommy!" A voice yelled loudly before she'd even reached the door and the second she pulled it open, a small body crashed into her and hugged her."Mommy, you're back, so soon?" Danielle

SARA'S POVDanielle stirred at the same time I looked up and my gaze swept to her.I reached over the space between us and patted her stomach softly when she muttered sleepily, "Daddy?""I don't know if it's your Daddy yet," I muttered in response then got up and slowly made my way to the door.I reached it in seconds then pulled the door open, revealing a face that was both unexpected and unastonishing at the same time.Alyssa.I had to say, it had been a long time since I crossed paths with her. Not exactly like I prayed or hoped to but we hadn't just had an encounter in a while. The last time we met was already a foggy moment in my brain and I seemed to remember it also being at the office or was it here?I quit trying to recollect and gave her a once over, noting how pristine and beautiful she looked. As usual. I wasn't even surprised about that or at the fact that she was impeccably dressed like she always seemed to be even when she had on the most basic clothes. One thing I howe

SARA'S POVThe tension between me and Alyssa didn't dissolve even as the minutes passed. If anything, it thickened.A couple of minutes later, Alyssa's fingers tightened around the strap of her bag and then she said coolly, "Stop this Sara, you're obviously starting to put ideas on Danielle's head."My brows furrowed tightly, "I'm doing nothing but protecting my daughter.""By turning her against me?" An incredulous laughter left my lips the minute she said that and I stared in disbelief at her, wondering how she had come to that conclusion. The answer hit me a minute later when Danielle took another step forward and muttered, "Mommy didn't do anything."There it was.The reason for Alyssa's anger.Never did I expect that a day would come when my daughter would take my side over Alyssa's but here it was, unfolding right before my eyes.As much as it sparked a deep sense of satisfaction, joy and relief within me, I was sure it evoked opposite emotions in Alyssa and that was why she ha
