Cecile's POVSo this is what the human world is like? I continue staring out the window of Delilah's friend's car as we drive down to their workplace. The buildings are lined up close together, and the place is crowded with people. I look at Delilah who is seated at the front. We haven't properly talked since I arrived. Delilah's POVI stare at my reflection in the bathroom mirror, holding my toothbrush in one hand. If General Kane wanted to come and save me, he would have been here by now. Of course, he knows I'm still alive. He wouldn't have sent me through the staff of Doom if he thought it was going to kill me. So why isn't he here? Anyway, I have to find a way to save myself. Delilah's POVCecile and I both stare at each other quietly. We stand face to face in the bathroom, waiting."Do you think this will work?" Cecile asks. "Yes," I reply to her. Delilah's POVThe images in the orb of doom remain faint. Despite the oracle's effort to conjure a clear view of Avalon in the spherical glass, nothing works. Kane's POVI pace about my study waiting for the magician's feedback. For days now, I've not seen or heard from Delilah, and it's driving me crazy.
