Xurion's POV “Why do you have Drayton's jacket?” I asked, turning to look at her, the word came out sharper than I meant it to be.“Oh my God,” she half smiled, her expression shifting from devastation to, I don’t know, something way irritating.“We were drinking in his hotel room and I spilled some wine on myself, so I showered and changed my clothes, and I borrowed his jacket.” She explained, her voice bubbling with confidence.“You were at his hotel room, drinking alone and…,” I paused and ran my fingers through my hair, my jaw clamped tight, “it doesn't matter,” I gulped down my words, though the feeling of being cheated on twisted in my chest.I wanted to explain. I wanted to tell her how I felt about her ex-boyfriend sharing a room with her…in my absence. I wanted to remind her how he'd hurt her in the past and was suddenly trying to walk into the walls she'd built all these years, like nothing happened. But she'd accuse me of jealousy or being over-protective of her.I mean,

Xurion's POVMr. Landon’s words made my heart tap, “How do you feel about going to Mars, Xurion?”I felt like I needed someone to pull me out of my revelry.Like I was in a dream. Or had a virtual reality headset strapped to my head, or something.Space was always my dream. When I got married to Circe, I shelved it for her.She doesn't even see it.But not anymore. With the best confident voice I had in my lungs, I answered, “Count me in sir!”“That's what I want to hear!” His voice rose with glee, “I’m confident in your decisions.”He said.As we spoke, I felt like the proudest man in the world.I'd never been this proud or felt worthy for a long time.I've been made to feel inferior for so long I almost started believing everything Circe said about me.But her words doesn't define, anymore. Not now that she's signed us apart forever.“Full transparency here, Xurion,” Mr. Landon continued, his tone sweet to my ears. “ You are gonna be off planet for a year,” he paused, letting it sim

Circe's POV The tension in the room grew thick, it could choke. My eyes shut as I spoke, “ Xurion, get his bags,” I persuaded. But he didn't move. Instead he looked like he was about to break down the building. Definitely on Drayton. And I hate that he over-flogs my intentions…everytime. “I'll get that,” Caspian offered, grabbing Drayton's bags and leading him. “Xurion, we need to talk.” “You sure have some explanations, Circe,” Xurion knocked off, “ What is…” he paused, running his hands through his hair. It's frustrating that I don't even know why he's acting up, practically over what's not. I mean, Drayton? “Stop it, okay?? You have to calm down,” “Stop what exactly?” He snapped, and I swear I saw jealousy flood his eyes, but they disappeared almost instantly, “What is he doing here?” He asked, face dull in anger or something. “Oh oh, Babe you see, I understand what you feel,” I started, holding him, “ He's just a…damn friend, and he's not gonna be here f

Xurion's POV The hospital ward smelled like medicines and life saving. My mouth tasted like I had a sour candy in it for the many injections that had been injected into me.I watched the doctor cover my arm with a bandage and then he rounded it over my neck as aid to make my arm stay in place. When he was done, he returned the tools to the medical platter and then handed it to the nurse who'd been standing with him.He scrutinized my face as if trying to make sure I was okay, “ You are really lucky Xurion, your injury isn't severe.” The doctor informed me.I sighed in relief, looking down at my arm.Wondering that I almost broke my arm and risking my career at NASR for Circe, turned my heart cold with fear. The doctor noticing I was worried about my arm continued, “ Luckily your shoulder is just lightly strained and that means you'd be completely fine in a couple of days, and that's if you stick to the drug prescriptions.”I nodded in full comprehension, but my mind still wandered of

Xurion's POV Circe's face turned pale like a blank page and her eyes went wide.“What the hell are you talking about?”Clicking the call to an end, I watched her blankly as she strolled towards me, her gaze dancing between my eyes. The naiveness in her eyes mixed with ignorance made my teeth grit.“How did we get divorced without me knowing?,” she questioned, eyes cold on my face, “ Xurion, answer me! Are you serious about us divorced?”My heart ached at her surprise. She didn't even see the world being pulled to collapse around her by her own hands. My fist clenched, holding against my other wrapped arm.She doesn't even know that my career is shining before my face already and I have just a few days to walk away from her forever. And not my fault, but for my own good, I'm already learning to unlove her as much as I can because I feel myself turning cold each day with her.She bursted out again, “ Xurion, get your fucking tongue talking now and explain to me how we are divorced,” sh
