[Dylan]I watched as Avira suddenly became uneasy once I mentioned the cave, and I wondered why. It was only a cave, and it was the only option I had with the other members of the pack nearly upon us."Is something wrong?" [Avira]We did not set out of the cave until four nights later, when Dylan was sure that the warriors must have relented in their guard in search for me. I was eager to leave the pack which now held nothing but sad memories and contempt for me so that when Dylan stated that we would leave tonight, I was overjoyed even though I had no idea where we were headed or how welcome I would be.I had tried everyday in the last four days to not think about Beta Maverick or that night, or Alpha Demian, or the entire pack at large. Instead, I reminisced about Dylan's rescue with so much gratitude, and tried to imagine the life that awaited me. There was nothing or no one to miss in the entire pack, and that in itself was a relief."Eat this." The stranger called, stretching out a wrap of dumpling to me. [Dylan]For the first time since that awful night when the entire pack tried to kill her, Avira actually cried. A throaty, heart wrecking silent sob that instantly shredded my heart into uncountable pieces. Again I felt a force, one that was beyond my control, drawing me to her, and wished I had answers to the questions that crowded my head.I watched her as the skin on her throat quivered pitifully against the Lunar Lock as she sobbed silently. But I said nothing. I did not tell her to stop crying. Crying would help her get the pain she was feeling off her chest, and would also give me enough time to perfect my plans. Yes, I had a plan, and no, Avira wouldn't like it but at this point, neither of us had a choice. [Avira]My heart lurched violently against my ribs at the sudden deafening sound that broke through the early morning silence. Even though I had spent the last few minutes waiting for it, its arrival had caught me by surprise, and caused me to flinch.I was squatting behind the shrub from last night, and peering at the men guarding the borderline, and Dylan, well, he made that sound.I was waiting for every last man to leave the border in search of whoever it was that made the sound but they weren't leaving or making any move to. They were shocked and alerted alright, but they weren't moving.Dylan's plan was to lure them away from the borderline with the loud noise, thereby providing me a free passage through, but the men guarding the borderline would not move, and as I watched them from behind the shrub, I felt a mixture of fear and impatience crawling into me.The deafening sound came on again, this time it was louder than the first, and a sharp cry followed a little while later."

[Avira]The journey to the border was long and quiet. Too long and too quiet, but thankfully my legs weren't hurting so much anymore. It turned out that the foul smelling healing remedy was effective.I was moving farther away from the place I believed to be home for two years, and heading for a new place I knew nothing about. But I needed to ask him questions about his pack to know what to expect when we arrived there. Are there barbaric laws in the pack just as they have in Moonfire pack? Will I be welcomed, and made to feel at home, or will I be segregated, and handed over to the pack's Beta like I was in Moonfire pack? What is the name of the pack?
