[Avira]"Actually, I didn't think you were innocent, I believed it." Dylan added after a few minutes, and honestly, I wasn't sure what to say to him. I should say thank you to him again, not just for saving my life but also for making me sit here, away from the scorching sun.The damn necklace would have been the end of me if we had continued to travel under the sun, and the only reason I wanted to continue despite the burning sensation around my neck was to get to Dylan's pack as soon as possible, and get the damn necklace off my neck. Dylan said we would travel at night, and it wasn't a bad idea. The warriors or entire pack members of Moonfire pack were no longer in hot pursuit, well they were but there was no risk of getting caught by them.A little nap now would help me stay awake at night, I thought, and stood up to take the cloak off me. I could feel Dylan's gaze on me but I completely ignored it. Not sure what his reaction would be, I placed the cloak on the ground, and laid on

[Avira]From the distance, a man was approaching Dylan and I in a slow, calculated and graceful manner. The hallway was well-lit so I could see his face clearly. There was a striking resemblance between the approaching man and Dylan so that I found myself looking forward and sideways, from him to Dylan and back to him again."You have a brother?" I asked Dylan with gritted teeth, hiding my surprise. My voice was in whispers, and intended for his hearing alone. Instinctively, my free hand hand went to my neck, to hide the damn necklace just as he got close. Close enough that one more step would send him bumping into Dylan who, all this while, had not stop looking at him."Hello brother," he said, but his eyes were fixed on me. Piercing, daring, and rude. My lips quivered under his piercing eyes as I suddenly became overly conscious of myself. I suddenly wished I was not wearing Dylan's cloak right now or that my hair was not so much of a mess as it was, or that I didn't have to clutch

[Avira]I felt a presence in the room once I peeled my eyes open. The room was dark which was strange because I remembered leaving the lights on before going to bed last night. I knew where I was, and remembered just how I got here, alright, so it could not be my mind playing games with me, as I was fully awake now. I wasn't sure whether to sit up, or pretend to be sleeping still. I did not want to show that I was scared, or awake even, to whoever or whatever was lurking in the room, and at the same time, I did not want to invite whoever him or her any farther into the room by sitting up.What if the person was only waiting for me to wake up? What if the pack was haunted by some beast, and the beast had just visited me? I shivered a little as these thoughts ran through my mind. Dylan would have told me, I said in my head just to suppress my fear and at the same time, doubted it. Didn't he conceal the fact that he was the Alpha's son, or that he had a brother? The fear was increasin

[Avira]"Have you gone deaf or mute?" Declan barked, and I flinched. He was closing in on me now, and I felt cornered. I took a few fearful steps backwards, and he raised his eyebrow in feigned surprise. The adjoining door he had emerged from a few minutes ago pulled open just then, and two girls stepped out from the room. Declan turned towards them, and I followed his movement with my eyes. One of the girls adjusted her rumpled dress as they stepped out of the room. Both of their eyes were downcast but I saw the sadness their eyes held. Declan looked away from them, and faced me. His lips were curled in a smirk, and I knew somehow that the smirk was not directed at me."I got lost while looking for the kitchen." I said once our eyes met. The smirk had disappeared from his face, and was replaced with that burning anger that was there before the door was pulled open."Is that so?" He asked, and I nodded, hoping for the best."Fair," he said in a low voice. I suddenly felt relieved s

[Avira]I stepped out of the room after her, and was shocked to see that it was already dark outside. I had spent the whole day in the damn room, sorting the damn keys and locks. We met Nanisca in the kitchen, stirring the large pot on the fire, with her nose raised like a pig. She left hurriedly for the adjoining room where the others were, leaving me to face Nanisca alone."Your food is on the table," Nanisca called without looking away from the pot she was stirring, which was fine. I didn't want to see her face either.I moved to the table, and collected the plate of pasta. It was of reasonable quantity, seeing that I had been without food all day. I then headed for the adjoining room, to join the others who were eating silently. They welcomed me but only with their eyes, for fear of Nanisca. I located a seat in the room, and eased into it, ready to satisfy my stomach which had begun to gurgle. I took a spoonful of pasta from my plate, and once I felt the taste on my tongue, I sp
