Stealing My Best Friend's Alpha のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 61 - チャプター 70

Chapter 62Time was a bit somber in the palace. For a while now, the cold lingered in the Castle. Even amongst the workers, it was evident.Being lost inside one's wolf was a disastrous event, one even I didn't know much about until it happened to my Kai. He remained on the bed, healing slowly, and the doctors said we could only wait for his human form to regain its strength as his wolf had drained their shared existence of all the energy there was.The room was painfully dark, lit by a few candlelights, where on the edge of the bed, I sat. My legs were crossed and my fingers twisted through Kai's hair as I hummed.I had recovered fully myself and was back to being hale. But without Kai's smile, and more importantly him being awake, everything felt odd and incomplete. It was hours later when I decided to leave his side. The hallway loomed before me, and as I gaited past, I couldn't miss the stares being launched at me.From the guards. From the maids. Basically, from everyone I passed

Chapter 64Almost every phenotypic characteristic of Kai was bluey, except those hefty muscles of his. Damn their fineness. The smell of herbs was thick in the air as I took a whiff. It's quite comical that while the outside world was modern, when it came to the palace, they'd rather resort to traditional ways of healing.Something about that remained fascinating to me.I climbed onto the bed and locked my arms around Kai's neck. My thighs locked around his legs, helping him prop his head against the headboard, careful in my attempt.Once he was settled, I let our foreheads meet, and I sniffed. "I missed you so much, my ass King.""As soon as I woke up, I came to look for you, sweet peach," he commented.Without opening my eyes, I imagined the familiar smirk curling up his lips."I heard about your training with Clawface. I mean, you've always been a tiger, but in the ways of war?"He distanced our faces, allowing me to catch the flicker of amber in his eyes. His wolf must still have

Chapter 66KAI'S POVMy entrance into the courtroom was met with disarray among my Council. The men were scattered across the floor, hushed whispers serving as the link between their shared distaste concerning something I believed I was about to learn. My gait carried me to my throne, the Jury ordering themselves into collective silence. Once I saw that the room was paying respect to my authority, I darted my eyes across the audience, and then they stopped on one particular man.Count Barry.I scoffed before raising a hand."Proceed, Count Aaron."The man with dyed silver hair, now in his fifties, stepped forward, the wrinkles beneath his eyelids quite evident."The Court received a report that has placed us in a worrisome state, and we called for this meeting so you could clear the rumours, sire.""It seems you and the rest of the Councilmen have already begun without me," I said, my lips curling to one side. Then I beckoned with my left hand. "Anyway, I'm listening. What is the repo

Chapter 68KAI's POVThough the night glistened beneath the moon, an uneasiness lingered in the atmosphere it created.I crouched at the edge of a shipping container at the harbour, my eyes fixed on the ocean ahead, where the darkened clouds drifted across the sky and their reflection rippled over the water.Awakening the bond with my men, I mind-linked Clawface, who was stationed at a different terminal."Get the men prepared," I ordered as the ominousness of the night heightened, my senses becoming increasingly alert."They're in their assigned positions. We're waiting for your orders." He sharply returned.I shifted my focus to the far stretch of the ocean where the moon's reflection vanished beyond the waters. Raising the telescope, I drew out the tube and began my inspection.Ten minutes passed, yet I kept my attention unwavering.I was watching... waiting... intentional. Then the mist carried by the night broke apart at the arrival of a ship. Small and hideous, much like the nig

Chapter 70"Bring them out." My voice rose above the wind. Though the sun blazed overhead, the weather itself felt strangely unsettling.Clawface blinked at me, his steps hesitant until he was certain I meant the order. Then he and a few of the men departed to carry it out.The uproar had become such a disturbance that I had dismissed the Council from the hall. My seat was positioned atop the porch, granting me higher ground over the rest of my subjects. Not long after, Clawface and his men returned with the pirates. Heavy, thorned chains dragged behind the bandits as they were kicked to their knees before me."Have them lined up for the ingestion," I continued. The Court fell silent, every eye fixed upon the prisoners. The scent of anticipation hung thick in the air, almost suffocating in its intensity.Clawface crushed the dried MoonBlade wolfsbane in his palm and let the brittle flakes fall onto their tongues while his men forced their jaws open to make them swallow. Then we waited
