Kael's POV I held the sheets of my bed as I coughed so hard. I know the maids can hear me, they have always heard me cough but never ask me what the reason was. I have held it down for years now and that's because I want it to be that way. I looked at the ground, it was my blood that was right there. " When will this come to an end?" I asked myself. I was broken when I learnt about the curse on the family and specifically on every male offspring of my house. I stood by the window as I watched the injured pack members being taken in for treatment. I placed my hands on my chest as I felt it tightened. The curse has been on for years, and I am the next in line to die from an illness no one can tell or stop. No medicine man or woman has been able to find a cure for it, and I know they won't. Karl's POV I walked into the gathering that was waiting for me. It was no longer only the council members that were present, the rest of the Pack members were there as well. I could see the members of my pack there too. I looked around and noticed that Princess Lyra was not yet here. I wondered if she was always this late to every gathering or she was just trying to piss me off right now. I stood in front of the burning fire as I waited for her to join me there. It was at the Moon fire altar, a very sacred one, it is not always used, except in cases like this and it was always a dangerous affair. The small chants from the crowd made me turn and there she was. I was upset that she had kept me waiting but I was startled by how pretty she looked, I could not deny that part. Kael's POVI got out of the bathroom and just like I had asked her to get ready for me. She was right there in bed. It was the first time I was seeing her skin, her shoulders as well. She was putting on a sleeveless top which had her shoulders visible. I stood there, imagining what was going to be underneath the duvet which she was using to cover herself." I've been waiting," she said. " As you should," I said to her. She must never know that I find her attractive, it was wrong and should never be made known. " Give me a minute," I said. I walked into the closet with my towel and grabbed the tissues that were on the shelf and rubbed off the blood that had threatened to show its ugly self. I wonder how long I was going to cope with this. They said Lyra has healing powers, I have to make sure I am cured of this ailment. Lyra's POV I crawled out of my room and got into his room. I was lucky that the door was open and I could go inside. I saw that he was on the floor as well, I had no idea why he was on the floor but I saw the blood coming out of his nose and I knew he was having another episode. I cringed at the sight of his blood, and was even more upset that he was hiding such a terrible thing from me, and he thinks I do not deserve to know what was going on with him, which I find very disturbing.
