Chapter 8

Lyra's POV

I crawled out of my room and got into his room. I was lucky that the door was open and I could go inside.

I saw that he was on the floor as well, I had no idea why he was on the floor but I saw the blood coming out of his nose and I knew he was having another episode.

I cringed at the sight of his blood, and was even more upset that he was hiding such a terrible thing from me, and he thinks I do not deserve to know what was going on with him, which I find very disturbing.

" What are you doing here?" He spoke slowly. He was getting weak as well.

" Tell me what is going on, you are leaving me in the dark" I said.

I was hurting but that was not the only thing going on with me.

I was hearing voices in my head, I thought it was some kind of reaction to something but I was wrong, I was hearing a man's voice in my head, crying out from pain.

I do not know who it was and it did not sound like Alpha Kael, it was not close, yet I could hear it.

I knew it was connected to him, but I just could not place my hands on the exact thing.

" You are the reason this is happening to me, I keep hearing a woman's voice in my head, what have you done to me?" He said weakly.

I sat there, with so much confusion going on in my head, what exactly was he talking about?

I was hearing a Man's voice and he was hearing that of a woman? What woman was that?

There was no way I could turn back the hands of time, I knew the consequences of doing that. I could not go back to my pack, Father was going to die if I went back.

The tears I have been holding back began to fall down my face, I wiped it with the back of my left hands.

" What does that mean?" I asked him.

He stood up, and took the tissue that was on the table, he rolled out a little bunch and wiped out the blood that was coming out.

" Answer me, I can not continue to go through this, and I do not know how long I was going to suffer from this torture" I screamed.

This was bad, but I needed to get out of here.

" You know what this is about and you are just pretending not to be aware of it, you are the reason this is happening" he said.

I knew that the blood coming out of his nose was a usual occurrence for him, I'm not the reason that was happening.

" That's not true, you have been bleeding before I came here" I tried to defend myself.

" Bloody hell, I know that, but the voices in my head are coming from you and your sick aura, something is wrong with you" he yelled at me.

I do not know how to feel at that moment, he was accusing me of being the reason he was hearing voices, but I was hearing voices as well, and it only started when I joined this house.

" It's not from me, it's from us," I said.

He turned and looked at me as he sighed.

" You must be crazy to have said that, the council head will have to address this, maybe a dissolution of this bloody marriage will be better" he spat.

He walked to where I was and pushed me aside.

" You should leave, I want to be left alone," he said.

I stood up and left his room.

Days passed and I was summoned by the council elders. I wore my best dress and looked tidy, I wanted to impress them, I wanted them to see me in a good light.

I got out of my room and walked to the meeting hall. I got in and saw the way they looked at me, none of them saw me as a part of them or as family, they all had disgusted faces raised up at me and that made me brace myself for the worse.

I stood before them, Alpha Kael was right in front of me, his eyes piercing through me like a sword that was sent out to kill.

Underneath that look was a softness I have never seen, he appeared like he wanted to cancel but his tongue was tied.

He turned his face away from me when it appeared like he could no longer control his reaction.

" You have been summoned because we noticed something unusual in this pack, and it has never happened before," the leader of their council said.

There was so much hatred in the way he spoke to me, and I wondered what he was talking about.

"What did you find out?" I asked him.

" You possessed a dark lunar magic and this has brought about some kind of darkness to our pack, we do not accept that kind of magic here and anyone who brings such to us will be punished" he said.

It sounded like some lame joke, I am never with such kind of magic, what has this got to do with me?

" I do not know what you are talking about and I can not be punished for what I do not know of" I said.

If they insist on doing anything to me, I was going to call Father to let him know what he has put me into.

I raised my head and looked at Kael, pleading with my eyes to say something to the council leader. There was a mistake somehow.

" You will have to be severely punished for it, and no one is coming to save you" he said with a mean face at me.

They were trying to punish me for the death of their pack members.

Kael tried to speak for the second time but was unable to do so.

I was left helpless, wondering what punishment was in there for me and if I was going to survive it.
