Lyra's POV

My heart was beating so fast, it began to get tightened and I could not place my hands on what was wrong.

I figured it was because of the meeting with the Crimson Fang Empire, I was going to see their Alpha for the first time.

Father never allowed me to leave the pack or go to the war front to fight, so I barely knew what he looked like.

A knock came to my door, I got up and rushed to it.

" What is it?" I asked my assistant. She was always in my face and I knew this day was not for chitchat. It was for something important.

" They have arrived and are waiting for you," she said.

She opened the door wider and got into my room.

" You need to get your face lit up, and even your jewelry, were you planning on going there looking like that!" She looked at me.

" Of course not," I said to her.

Even though it was a big fat lie, I never want to do this or be a part of this marriage.

I want to show them how unhappy I was with everything going on.

" Wear this, and hold this in your right hand" she said.

I nodded my head and held the beaded ropes in my right hand.

I walked out of my room with a fake smile on my face. I needed to let everyone know that I was okay with it even when I was far from being okay with it.

The door to the big hall opened for me. It was under the cold light of the council members.

I looked to the other side and saw my council members with Father in the midst of them.

And on the other side, it was the council members of the Crimson Fang Empire.

My heart sank into my stomach as my eyes met with their Alpha, Alpha Kael.

He was tall, well built and looked extremely handsome. But the admiration did not last long, it was replaced by a deep hatred when I reminded myself that it was his people who killed Mother.

" Princess Lyra, you are welcome, we have been waiting for you to show up and here you are" the council leader from my pack said.

I walked and stood close to my father, hoping they would change their mind but I was so wrong about it.

" I want to welcome both Packs to this gathering. It is with great pleasure to have you here. This gathering is just to inform both parties of the implications and what is required of the" he said.

His voice sounded like a sword piercing through my heart. I swallowed hard as I tried to ignore the eyes that were on me.

" This will lead to a blood marriage between both parties. Your souls will be bound together by dark magic from the moment the oath is taken. And none of you should hurt each other nor are you to betray" he said.

There was a pause as he looked at both of us to make sure we were following or if we agreed with him.

I had a lot of things to disagree with but I was not going to do that.

"Any party that betrays will face the consequences of death, and it will be extended to the park members as well" he said.

Fear gripped my heart as soon as he said that. I looked at Father, he was going to die if I happened to betray this blood oath.

This was way too dangerous and I wondered if this was the only way to get us peace. I was giving up my life and peace just to restore sanity to my pack?

The man I was to marry might be the very reason why I would end up dead. If I dare walk away from this, I was going to be gone.

I raised my face and looked at him, with so much hatred and I was glad he felt the same way, I could see it in his eyes, the way he looked at me and how hard his face was.

I kept my eyes on him and only had to shift my attention when I began feeling my wolf leap for joy.

" What's that?" I silently asked myself.

" He's Mate" she whispered.

Mate? That can not be. The monster I was going to get married to was my mate? Why would the Moon Goddess be this unkind to me? I have not committed any offence at all.

" Any questions?" The voice of the Council leader interrupted my thoughts.

There was silence, no one said anything.

I had a million questions to ask but I would rather give those questions to my father than embarrass myself in front of all these people.

" The marriage ceremony will be prepared by tomorrow. The Crimson Fang Empire members can return to the left wing Chambers, sleep there and appear early in the morning for the ceremony" he said.

They began to move. Alpha Kael began to move as well. I watched as they all left the hall. I also waited till my pack members were out of the hall as well.

" Father, can I have your attention?" I asked him.

" Okay" he said shortly.

He looked at the others to leave the hall as he wanted to be left alone with me.

" I do not like this" I blurted out as soon as I confirmed that we were alone.

He came closer to me.

" Lyra, I understand you, but this is a sacrifice to save your Pack and to save me too" he said softly.

I thought he was going to be furious by my words but he appeared to be calmer than I had thought.

I went back to my room and my wolf won't stop talking about us being mates.

" I hate to hear it" I yelled as I covered my ears.

My eyes went to my wrist as I saw a silver line appeared there.

I touched it and felt the connection with Alpha Kael, the ritual was already taking place.

Lyra's POV I crawled out of my room and got into his room. I was lucky that the door was open and I could go inside. I saw that he was on the floor as well, I had no idea why he was on the floor but I saw the blood coming out of his nose and I knew he was having another episode. I cringed at the sight of his blood, and was even more upset that he was hiding such a terrible thing from me, and he thinks I do not deserve to know what was going on with him, which I find very disturbing. " What are you doing here?" He spoke slowly. He was getting weak as well. " Tell me what is going on, you are leaving me in the dark" I said. I was hurting but that was not the only thing going on with me. I was hearing voices in my head, I thought it was some kind of reaction to something but I was wrong, I was hearing a man's voice in my head, crying out from pain. I do not know who it was and it did not sound like Alpha Kael, it was not close, yet I could hear it. I knew it was connected to him

  • Black Bound   Chapter 7

Lyra's POV I could feel everything that was going on in the building. The way the maids looked at me, the guards were no different. No one treated me with kindness, they looked at me like something was wrong with me. Like I had made the biggest mistake of my life by coming to this place. I understand that they are hurt that my pack killed their people and they must have lost a family member, but this marriage was done so the killings does not continue. " Can you help me out with the water?" I asked one of the maids. My bath water was always set for me by my assistant, I never had to do it, but since I got here, I've had to handle that and I was not comfortable with it. " Why should I? You have been doing it, I guess you can continue" she said coldly to me.I stood there, looking at her, there was nothing I could do and there was no one I could report to as well. Keal was never going to look at me twice, he was disgusted by my sight the last time I was in his room. He said I rem

Kael's POVI got out of the bathroom and just like I had asked her to get ready for me. She was right there in bed. It was the first time I was seeing her skin, her shoulders as well. She was putting on a sleeveless top which had her shoulders visible. I stood there, imagining what was going to be underneath the duvet which she was using to cover herself." I've been waiting," she said. " As you should," I said to her. She must never know that I find her attractive, it was wrong and should never be made known. " Give me a minute," I said. I walked into the closet with my towel and grabbed the tissues that were on the shelf and rubbed off the blood that had threatened to show its ugly self. I wonder how long I was going to cope with this. They said Lyra has healing powers, I have to make sure I am cured of this ailment. I can not continue like this, it feels like my life is getting shorter by the day. I wiped it clean and went back to Lyra on the bed, she was still waiting there

  • Black Bound   Chapter 5

Lyra's POV The Pack was having a loud celebration of our marriage. Father was very excited about it, it felt like he had done something that he has always wanted to do. I was seated next to my supposed husband and Aloha, it made my stomach ache and I hated to be there. I would have sat next to my father, but the pack elders were going to kick against it. I saw how the food and drinks went about the place and how fast things were going in my eyes. Kael and I have not said much ever since we returned from the river. The day has gone back to normal but I was still unsettled about what it was that was going on. My wolf has been quiet ever since I returned to my room. I had tried to engage her in a conversation but she had refused to say anything. Maybe she was shocked at what had happened and she was only taking her time to reflect on what it was. " You do not look well to me" I heard Kael say. I was surprised that he would speak to me. Of course I was not well, everything that wa

  • Black Bound   Chapter 4

Karl's POV I walked into the gathering that was waiting for me. It was no longer only the council members that were present, the rest of the Pack members were there as well. I could see the members of my pack there too. I looked around and noticed that Princess Lyra was not yet here. I wondered if she was always this late to every gathering or she was just trying to piss me off right now. I stood in front of the burning fire as I waited for her to join me there. It was at the Moon fire altar, a very sacred one, it is not always used, except in cases like this and it was always a dangerous affair. The small chants from the crowd made me turn and there she was. I was upset that she had kept me waiting but I was startled by how pretty she looked, I could not deny that part. I turned and faced the fire. She stood beside me and said nothing. There was no apology and that made me cringe at how disrespectful she is going to be. I doubt I would allow that. " Thank you everyone for joi
