All Chapters of The Broken Luna's Surrogate: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

POV: Vivian Standing outside my father’s study with a glass of medicine in my hand, I heard his wet groans and the loud slap of skin through the wood as he fucked his mistress on the leather couch while my mother lay dying three rooms away. "Harder, Marcus..." Lori groaned, her voice breathy and loud, like she's almost at climax stage. "What if your sick wife hears us?" My father let out a rough laugh, the heavy thud of his body echoing through the door. "Let her hear. That useless bitch can barely draw breath in there. She’s been nothing but a ghost in my house for three years. I should have thrown her out the day her wolf gave up." "You're terrible," Lori giggled. "When are we moving into the new house?" "Next week," my father panted, his breath heavy. "I sold the house today. Once I get the gold, I’m dropping my wife at the public hospital to die. Vivian can rent a cheap maid's room, and Toby can go work in the iron mines. I’m done throwing away my money on a dying woman and

POV: Gideon A sharp, heavy pain shot through the back of my head. I closed my eyes and pressed my thumb hard against the bridge of my nose. Another headache. They had been getting worse every single week, ever since Cynthia got sick. It felt like a dark, tight iron band squeezing my skull, refusing to let go. "You need to sign these, Alpha," Beta Marcus said, putting a stack of papers on my desk. "The elders are getting impatient." I opened my eyes. The bright sunlight coming through the window hurt my head like knives. "What is this?" "The list of surrogate candidates," Marcus said. "Three females from our pack, and two from the border pack. The doctors cleared them all." I pushed the papers away, disgust rising in my gut. "I told you I’m not doing this." "Gideon, you don't have a choice!" The office door opened. Cynthia walked in, supported by her maid. She looked super thin, her blonde hair was dull, and her skin looked pale and translucent. The sweet flower smell she used

POV: Vivian The study was huge, filled with tall bookshelves and dark wood walls. Sitting behind a massive desk at the far end was Alpha Gideon. He was even bigger than I imagined. Broad shoulders, sharp jaw, and short dark hair. But his eyes were what caught me a cold, piercing hazel that felt like stepping into an ice-cold river. Next to his chair stood an old advisor and Beta Marcus, who shut the door behind me. Gideon didn't get up. He sat back in his big leather chair, his eyes moving down my simple grey dress, taking in my muddy boots and plain hair. His face didn't show a single emotion. "Vivian," Gideon said. His voice was low and heavy with natural authority. "Daughter of Beta Marcus from the border pack." "Yes, Alpha," I said, keeping my voice steady. I didn't bow. I didn't look down at the floor. I might be selling my time, but I am not begging him. "The healers say your health is great," he said, opening a thin folder on his desk. "Your wolf is stable. But your situa

POV: Vivian The cottage on the edge of the Blood River territory was warm, dark, and quiet. Outside, two guards stood watch in the rain. Inside, the fire crackled in the fireplace, painting the heavy wooden bed in orange light. I sat on the edge of the soft mattress. My heart was pounding like a hammer against my ribs. This is it, I thought, my hands gripping my knees. This is where the contract actually begins. The front door unlocked with a heavy click. Gideon walked into the bedroom. He had taken off his dark leather jacket, wearing only a black fitted shirt with the sleeves pushed up his arms. He looked massive in the small room. His dark, cold hazel eyes locked straight onto me. Neither of us said a word. The air felt…heavy, like a storm about to break. "The healers said tonight is the right time," Gideon said. His voice was low, rough, and thick with tension. "I know," I whispered. My throat felt bone dry. He walked over to the bed, unbuckling his heavy belt and dropping

POV : Vivian By late morning, I had packed my air to a bun shape at the back, breathing the dust air in. The sun casted Golden light shadows across my hair and face. I decided not to be a baggage, atleast be useful to a pack that will someday help me financiallly to deal with my father and his concubine. Lori. The thought of that name alone made my breath hitched. There were guards walking around the corridor area at the east cottage kitchen. I forced a smile on my face. The goal is to keep my head down. Never allow them think you're desperate to sleep with a king who has a wife. No one even looked my way. i lowered my head down. as i stepped into the kitchen. One of the packs maid Nora carried a basket on her hands attached to her waist body. In it were groceries and bread. laundry clothes too. who puts laundry clothes inside a grocery basket. I pondered.
