The Hybrid Princess

ANNALISE POV 

    "AGAIN", I motioned with hands as I take my place, ready for another round of sparing. 

    "Come on Annalise, I'm a wolf and I'm tired, we need to take a break, we have been training whole night". Nova complained again.
    "Fine Nova, when the war comes tell your enemy you're tired and see if they care," I snapped, as I throw my hands in air, then moved to the log next to us to take a seat. Nova is my wolf, she's my best friend, my other half and the only one I can trust. Our lives have been a whirlwind of events since being paired with each other. Let me tell you what exactly is going on. 

    On my thirteenth birthday, I was visited by the moon goddess in a dream, at first I didn't know who she was. We were both sitting on a log from a broken pine tree in a beautiful forest. The forest it self was something from a fairy tale, the smell of pine was strong as the green pines tress covered us from the sun, I could hear the animals running around, a faint roar of a waterfall, however, all I could focus on was how she was glowing. She had the most beautiful blue eyes, flowing white hair, and had the most calming aura around her, that would relax anyone around her. She introduced herself as the moon goddess and said that she needed my help with an important mission to save both the supernatural and humankind. Yea, so for a thirteen-year old that was a lot to take in. For one I didn't think that the supernatural world was real and that they were actually living among us. 

    "What are you talking about, the supernatural doesn't exist. As far as I know it's stories in different books," I shouted. I have read a few books on werewolves and vampires but it was just stories. 

    "Anna in every story there is a little truth in them", she said releasing a sigh, "I do need your help to fight an upcoming war. I'm not sure when it is but I know it's coming, you being a hybrid with Lycan blood can save a lot of people." Wait, this moon goddess woman have to be crazy, but then maybe I'm crazy because this is my dream. Sensing my confusion she started to talk again and what she said shocked me the most.

    "You, dear Anna is half vampire, half werewolf that has a bloodline from the royal Lycan family." 
    The pity in her face alone should of told me she was telling the truth, but the naïve little girl I was didn't want to believe her. 

    "WHAT! I think you're mistaken", I said shaking my head in disbelieve. This woman is sounding a bit crazier now. I mean yea dad and mom is strong but I think it's all the time they spend at the gym, they don't look like some supernatural beings. The more I thing about it the more I'm starting to feel annoyed and irritated, because something still isn't right about the way she was watching me, like she wanted to say something but is afraid of how I will react. Gosh, why can't I just wake up and stop this dream.

    "No I'm not and I know what your thinking'', she lets out a sigh and then rubbed her hands over her head looking a bit stressed. "Your parents aren't your birth parents, they are your birth parents' best friends entrusted to take care of you and keep you safe from the supernatural world," she said in a more apologetic tone. 

    "YOU'RE LYING" I shouted standing up, I wanted no more of this. But the question is there now, is she telling the truth, I don't want to believe her, my parents never treated me bad or even showed me any kind indication that I'm not theirs. Tears started to run down my face, the thought of my parents may not be mine was heartbreaking, but if they weren't, why did my real parents give me away? Is something wrong with me? Am I not lovable, I need to find out more there has to be more. 

    "I'm not child and I'm sorry but you were to find out eventually, but time is of the essence and we need you to start training immediately. Would you like to know what happen, I can answer any question you may have right now because you won't see me until your next birthday. I will visit every birthday until your eighteen to get an update on your training". Even though I was angry, the way she spoke to me was enough for me to relax and sit down to listen to what she has to say. 

    "Yes, why didn't my parents want me, and what happened to them?" I asked her, my voice was low and broken. I was trying to hide the sadness in my voice and eyes, but, as my eyes where focus on the ground, she placed a hand on my shoulder in a comforting justure, it took everything in me to stop the tears from falling.

     "Your parents loved you so much that they put their lives on the line to keep you safe. Your mom was the Vampire Princess and your dad was the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. Your dad went to the supernatural convention that would keep peace in the world and while there he meet your mom. Even though he had a mate he was drawn to her, their connection was so strong it broke the mate bond, which was surprising to me because that can never happen. Only if a special being is needed to help the supernatural and human world. During the summit, your dad found out your mom is to be married to the leader of another vampire coven, he couldn't let that happen so instead he marked her at the summit and took her home". She finished while looking at me, she gently removed her hand from my shoulder then turn to gaze over at the lake. 

    "Wow, that's a lot to take in, what happened when he got home and what is a mate bond?" I question, apart from being stunned by the move my 'dad' made, I was also curious about a lot of things, like a mate bond, or how can it be broken like that, and most of all my mom was a freaking princess. 

    "Let me finish Anna and then ask your questions", she said sternly make me bow my head. Yep defiantly a goddess, that command is something. Still keeping her gaze on the lake she took a deep breath and started again.

    "When your dad got home his mate was very upset, because she felt the bond break. When a mate bond is broken it is unbelievable painful. She screamed at them telling them they will both die and she will make sure they did. Your mother's coven was so displeased by her actions, they would send vampire worriers to try and kidnapped her and bring her back, but your grandfather being the supporting father he was, called a white witch to cast a spell to hide your mom scent and to protect her. Your grandfather wasn't happy starting a war with the vampires, but he supported your dad no matter what. After three years of being together, your mom started getting sicker by every passing day and that's when they found out she was pregnant with you. The vampire kind was cursed so they couldn't have kids and your dad didn't care that he couldn't have any, he had his nephew and he was ok with that. Your grandfather called back the white witch to come take a look at your mom, to see if she could help her. That was their last hope since the healer and doctors didn't know what was wrong. After checking your mom, she informed them that it was black magic that got your mom pregnant and if she doesn't abort the pregnancy she will die giving birth. Your mom loved your dad so much she was willing to give her life so he could have a child of his own.

       Your dad prayed to me so much but I couldn't help, I myself didn't understand what was going on. It felt like someone was blocking my powers, he made her as comfortable as possible while being pregnant. He even reached out to her coven asking for help, but no one could help, they never had a vampire pregnant with a wolf worse yet a wolf from the Lycan bloodline.  As time grew closer to your birth, the vampires of your mother coven and the wolves of your father pack came together to protect both of you as word got out that a powerful being is about to be born. The day your mom went into labor your father was crushed, he knew he was losing the love of his life but tried to stay strong for her.

       He gave her the support while honoring her last wish, which was to take care of you and give you the life you deserved. She transferred all her power to you just as she passed away. On your 1st birthday, your father's pack was attacked and your dad died while trying to keep the rogues and other vampires from getting to you. Your mother's coven have had vampires around you protecting you ever since the attack. Your current parents are head worriers of your father's pack, so you're being protected from all sides.

        Now to answer your other question, a mate bond is a special bond between two wolves it's like soul mates, if you or your mate get hurt the other feels it, just as if anyone of you are unfaithful the other feels the pain. A mate bond is meant to be special, it connects two people in ways of completing each other". she finished with a deep breathe. The silence hung around as both of us was deep in thought. It's alot to take in. 

        After hearing everything from the moon goddess, my emotions were running high, I mostly felt anger. I also felt like I was robbed, taken away from two people who undoubtly loved me more than life itself. Everything I know is a lie and now everything will have to change. The question still stands though, who can be so cruel to take parents away from there only kid, what was there plan, what's their end game? Then again why didn't my adoptive-parents say anything. Gosh I was so mad I wanted to smash something, my body started to shake as my anger started to surface, but as soon the moon goddess touch my shoulder I calmed down immediately, my body relaxed to her touch. 

    "You can speak your mind with me Anna, I'm here to help you". she said gently, like she was expecting me to blow at any given moment. 

    "Why didn't my adoptive-parents tell me?" I asked, only because they knew how much I hate lies, 

    "They were sworn to keep it a secret until your eighteenth birthday, where you were to join the pack with your grandfather and the rest of the family". she answered and I nodded. 

    After thinking it over I had a mission of my own, REVENGE, and I will have it for my parents. After a few minutes, I turned to the moon goddess and said "I'M IN" she nodded at me. I know I have a long way to go because hell, its my thirteenth birthday today, but there is so much more I need to know, so much more I need to understand before I put my own mission in place. 

    "First we need to get you and your wolf comfortable with each other, that way you both can start training. Normally werewolves get their wolves at the age of sixteen to eighteen years old, but I'm giving you yours early. Would you like to see her?" I nodded excitingly, with a wave of her hand a huge white wolf came out from behind a tree and walked towards us, she bowed to the goddess and then stood next to me.

    "Her name is Nova. Go on, you can touch her, she will be your best friend, your other you. Someone who will understand your every emotion, so you need to keep your emotion in check at least until your next birthday". I nod and then turned to Nova, I raised my hand half way to meet her and waited for her to respond. She dropped her head and touched my hand, the contact send a wave of completeness I've never felt before. Like a piece of me finally fit into place. She's so beautiful she has mesmerizing blue eyes and a small black patch on her belly, looking at the patch, the moon goddess smiled at me and informed me that its the color of my fathers' wolf so a piece of him will always be with us. I cried like a baby that night after taking in everything, after a while, the moon goddess got up and said it was time for her to go but before she left she turn to me and said, ''This must remain a secret between the both of us, don't trust anyone, not yet at least and whether you believe it or not your adoptive-parents do love you like their own trust me I will know". she smiled and with that, she left. 

       One thing I know for certain, blood or not they are my parents. I may have a hard time adjusting to everything I learnt tonight but that fact will always remain.
