Guilty pleasures

"You have two choices Sarah" Emily sneered as her mother sat quietly listening.Emily was Sarah's eldest sister.Mrs Daniel's ruthless henchman. Mr Daniel's clearly wasn't invited to this meeting. The next words Emily spat out left me in shock." YOU WILL EITHER MARRY HIM OR LEAVE Him. "

The words were ringing in my head, as I sat dumbfounded. Where was this coming from, what have I done to deserve this treatment, time after time I was their emotional punching bag. I had never expected this is how they would dispose of me.I had just turned celebrated my eighteenth birthday earlier this year and completed my grade 12 last year. I working a low paying job in a private hospital.I had no degree, no diploma, just a high school pass. Jacob White was my boyfriend. We were together since I was fourteen. Jacob is three years older than I am and happens to be my brother's best friend, or so I assume. He was tall and handsome with pin straight hair all flicked up with a bit of gel. I felt that tingly sensation in my heart when we had met. It was an immediate attraction from my side , we were inseparable, or so I thought , the electric waves, the chemistry I had felt drew me towards him. He was like a whirlpool and I was stuck in his current. Jacob had dropped out of school in grade eleven and started working a few jobs until I had found him, his destined career. His family weren't saints either, in fact they were worse than the Daniels which drove him to drop out of school. We dated from the end of February 2004. I remember the day as if it was yesterday. The music was pounding in the game room at the famous Coconut grove. I walked up to the game he was leaning against and was about to slot in my coins when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I spun around to see Jacob White staring into my eyes. My hands became sweaty and my cheeks where on fire. I felt nervous, excited, nauseas and overwhelmed all at once. I GUESS THATS WHAT THEY CALL BUTTERFLIES IN YOUR TUMMY.

He took my hands in his, and leaned in closer. I felt his hot breath on my ear as he whispered "I love u".

I thought my heart was going to explode. It pounded so hard. My thought got dry. My eyes teared up. AND THEN MY LOGIC KICKED IN. I looked at him once more and I leaned in to whisper. " My brother is behind you".

I snapped out of my daydream of that 1 pleasant day I had in the last 4 years. Jacob was unaware of the situation at hand, I knew he loved me but was he willing to marry me so soon.

How would we support ourselves with earning so little. No higher education except grade twelve and grade eleven. Where they so heartless to just throw us into the big bad world with nothing. Which mother would marry of her daughter at such a young age without a second thought. A HEARTLESS ONE.

The question still loomed in the air. I said nothing. I pushed out the incident from my head, although I could feel the tension, as if I were walking on egg shells.

The week went on smoothly, no drama, no questioning about my decision.

Honestly I had thought this incident was just a scare.......

Until..... SATERDAY AFTER WORK.........
