In the year 2003, meteorites have fallen on the Earth's surface, resulting in the birth of kids with special abilities later known as Alphas. On her 18th birthday, Miyazaki Nana accidentally discovers her powers and later known the truth regarding her true identity from a cold and mysterious guy who later introduced himself as Kitamura Haru. After being discovered and betrayed by her so-called friends, Miyazaki Nana now has to join Haru and her best friend Endo Hiroshi on an epic journey towards getting into Alpha Society, a secret organization run by their co-Alphas to keep shelter from their enemy, which is the government itself. But when things get tough along the way, would Miyazaki Nana and her friends somehow make it to the camp-- alive? *** -Written in English. -Written by an amateur writer. "Happy Birthday Nana-chan!" It was her friend Watanabe Rin, or so Nana thought her to be before she discovered her mind-reading powers, that greeted her the moment she and her other peers were able to approach her from afar. What sets apart this mysterious guy from others who are present in this hall, or from the students at school is that Miyazaki Nana can't seem to read his thoughts at all. It's like he has some sort of power that could block her mind-reading powers from attempting to read his mind. He is just like what he looks from his outward appearance. Dark. Mysterious. Odd. Yet despite having these qualities, Miyazaki Nana didn't consider him to be a dangerous one. She just can't sense any negative energy coming from him, that's all. Even so. she still wouldn't allow herself to let her guard down when he is around. Speaking of the devil, he must have immediately spotted her location since he looked like he was approaching him. On her trip to the function hall via the "secret route". that is from the hallway on the second floor that will lead her then to a staircase that directly leads her to the back entrance of the function hall where nobody would spot her immediately, Miyazaki Nana almost had a heart attack when she happened to cross paths with her best friend, Endo Hiroshi as soon as she reached downstairs. "I knew you would come here," Hiroshi said with a smirk on the corner of his lips. The young man was looking dashing himself with the white coat and black slacks on with no eyeglasses donned on his face. Instead, he deemed it best to wear contacts for now. And knowing that Hiroshi hates wearing them more than anything else in this world (since he finds it irritating in his eyes, as he said,). Nana was quite surprised to see him with his contacts now. Miyazaki Nana was still troubled by what is going on with her right now. And to add to her growing curiosity, she also can't stop thinking about that guy she happened to cross paths with at the school. Somehow, Nana has this weird impression that the mysterious guy she happened to met at school could be the only one who could answer all the questions that's been bugging in her mind for the past few hours. "Nana? What's the matter?" Hiroshi, her best friend, seemed to notice that something's been bothering her mind as of this moment. When their teacher for their last-period class dismissed them and leaves the room, Miyazaki Nana started stuffing her things inside her bag along with others. She was just about to zip her bag when she felt her friends' presence surrounding her now. "I can't wait for your big party tonight," Ito Yui squealed in excitement. If Nana remembered it well, this would be the second time hearing this girl saying the exact same thing. On her right was her boyfriend, Miyamura Kai, standing near her with one of his hands draped around Yui's shoulder like a possessive boyfriend. "I'm sure it's going to be a blast," Kai said with some unnecessary exaggeration that's inserted into his tone. B

"Do we know each other?" Miyazaki Nana's question made the cold and mysterious guy stifle a laugh while still trying to compose himself. "You amuse me," the guy said, ignoring her question that annoyed Nana. Of course, there's no way for them to meet! Nana would definitely be not hanging out with this obnoxious guy who tries to be cool or whatever. But what's more surprising here is that somehow, Nana couldn't read his thoughts, unlike others. It was like, this guy's mind was tight shut for others to have a peek around it. Not that Nana is happy with this newly-discovered power that she possessed. After all, she was still wondering why on Earth is this happening to her.
Alpha Society 2. The Cold and Mysterious Guy
The student lounge,a place where scholarship kids and social outcasts, who are usually criticized by the elite ones once they step their foot inside the cafeteria, can eat their food in peace without being bullied by anyone. These students have usually packed lunches with them and would occupy an empty wooden table while being blessed with the cool shade brought by the Acacia Trees. This is the ideal place for Miyazaki Nana to go to whenever she seeks some refuge from the noise of her own little rich world. Once the multi-billionaire heir and the school idol set her foot on the student lounge's premises, all students present here literally stopped from what they were doing and sneak a glance in the girl's direction.
