After the fiasco with Nathan, I honestly didn't know what to do. He ruined my children's birthday and I couldn't believe that I let him into our lives. The ride home was excruciatingly silent, the two of them then stormed into their rooms and I really can't blame them. I got into fights with ZG for defending that man but I knew nothing good would come out if I wouldn't talk to them. I grabbed a tub of cookies and cream ice cream from the freezer and three spoons before I went over to their room. I knocked three times, but no one answered so I slowly opened the door. The two of them were sitting in ZG's bed and I could tell that Zia was crying before I entered the room. She was rubbing her already puffy eyes, and the two of them dove under their blankets as soon as they saw me enter the room. I sat down on Zia's bed, opposite where they lay. "Ice cream?" I quietly say and I could immediately see the two of the shuffling under the blankets. A few seconds later, they both peeked out f
ZG and Zia seem very happy with their birthday party, especially when the mascot that they wanted to see, came to the party. I need to remember to say thank you to my mom for getting the mascot. "Hey! The party looks great, hon." Nathan suddenly appeared beside me, pulling me by my waist as he gave me a kiss on my lips. "Thanks for coming. I know you're busy." I said to him as I pulled away from our kiss. "I'm never gonna be too busy for you." He said smiling down at me, I returned his smile and got back to watching my kids who are now running around with the mascot.
ZG was never fond of Nathan. We've been together for two years now, but Z is just not warming up to him. My son keeps saying that Nathan is out to get him, and I honestly, don't know where it came from. Cam said that it might be because ZG is still hoping that I and his dad would get back together, but I know that ship has sailed long ago since I left those divorce papers. "ZG. I told you to stop being rude to Nathan." I said to my son, but instead of answering me he just grabbed his sister and went back to their room. "It's okay, hon. He's still a kid. Don't be so hard in him." He said as he gave me a hug. "I just don't get him. He's still far from going through puberty but he's already acting like a rebellious teenager. What more if he reaches that age?" I ranted and he just laughed at my misery. "He's a boy, who thinks I'm trying to replace his dad. It's normal for him to be emotional about me. But if you think that you can't handle him anymore, we could always enroll him in th
Five years passed and I could say that I'm fine. I'm currently living abroad with my two kids, away from all the stress, the drama, and the heartache. At first, it was a struggle, starting a new life in a different place, with my two-year-old son and pregnant.I have to make sure that Gavin couldn't follow us. I didn't want to talk to him, see him or hear him out. Before I left the country, I filed a divorce case and signed it the day I left, asking Cam and Zab to give it to Gavin for signature.A lot of people were against me leaving. They told me that I was just running away from my problems, but I was determined to leave and put all the pain behind me. I just wanted to forget about all the pain and move on with my life, and that is what I did.The first year proved that it was going to be difficult raising my children alone, but I had to do it. ZG was always looking for his dad. He threw a tantrum every time I told him that he can't see his dad, and it just broke my heart every tim
My world crumbled as I saw them. The way Gavin helped her carry the groceries inside the house. The way Kacey smiled as soon as the car pulled into her driveway. My heart shattered as I sat alone, crying inside my car. It was the most painful feeling I ever felt in my life. I felt like I was being cut open alive, pulling my heart out of my chest. But then, just like how the sky looked as the sun began to set that day, suddenly all I could see was red. I was filled up with anger and hatred, and without thinking twice, I got out of the car and marched to the house where those traitors were now having the time of their lives. It was like I was possessed as I walk up to the door and without any hesitations, I knocked. I heard some rustling from the other side of the door, and I prepared myself as I waited. After a few more seconds of waiting and the door knob began jiggling and the door slowly swung open. "Love?" Gavin whispered as his dazzling smile while he opened the door faded awa
I don't know what's gotten into me, I just knew that I have to find out where he was. I looked up his phone's location, it was a good thing that he doesn't turn off his internet and location. I got a lock on his location and was surprised to see him in a subdivision on the other side of the city. "Thank you, Ky. Oh, don't tell him I came over. I don't want to worry him. I'm supposed to be on bed rest, remember." I said to Kyla and she just smiled and nodded. "No problem, Cath. Just be careful, okay?" She said and I smiled back at her. "Yeah. Bye, Ky." I said before leaving the office.
I got out of what happened as if I was a different person. Everyone moved on as if nothing happened. It became my habit to smile and try to be fine, but at the end of the day, it still hurt and I know that I'm not fooling anyone. Everyone has been overly conscious around me like I was a ticking time bomb that could go off anything. I am trying my best, trying to move on and forget, but for a mom, it's not really easy. Nowadays, ZG is the only one that can genuinely make me happy. "Mommy, look what I made." He said my four-year-old son who just drew a picture. "Let me see." I said to him. A tear fell from my eye as I saw a family portrait with names on top of each person. Daddy... Mommy... ZG... and baby. "What's happening here?" Gavin excitedly exclaimed as he got home from work. I looked up at him and I could tell that he got worried with the look on my face. "What is this?" He said taking the picture from me. His eyes widened and his lips quivered. "What's wrong, mommy?" ZG
My legs caved in as soon as I saw blood coming dripping down my legs. My hands shook, as I wiped the blood from my legs. My hearing was muffled, and my eyes went blurry. I couldn't speak, it felt like my world stopped. Tears started streaming down my face and the next thing I knew, I was swept off of my feet by a familiar comforting presence. I looked up at my husband and saw that his lips were moving but I couldn't hear a thing that he was saying. "Our baby. Our baby." I sobbed as he ran through the building still carrying me in his arms, and before we could even go down the elevator, everything went black. A bright light pierced through my eyelids as I awoke. And then I remembered what happened. I opened my eyes in fright and saw Gavin sitting beside my bed with a worried expression on his face. "What happened? Love, what happened? Our baby?" I exclaimed as he stood up from his chair. "Calm down, love. Breath. Breath. Our baby is fine." He said to me and as soon as he said that
