If she can take it, she will. It's the hunt she enjoys, and the hunt may be her downfall when those two worlds start to collide.

Chapter 1

CHAPTER ONE: THE HUNT

I have it all. The dream job, the nice car and an overly large house. The only responsibilities I have, are to myself. There is no spouse for me to report to, no children to take care of. I am free to do whatever I please. And that’s exactly how I like it.

Most women my age, the age of twenty eight, are scouting around for the perfect man that is going to be there for them emotionally and physically. They are looking for the legendary one to build with and grow old with. I on the other hand, could give zero fucks. I’m not looking for marriage or a white picket fence with kids running around in the front yard. I don’t need a man to take care of me, because I’ve been doing perfectly fine on my own. In my eyes, men are only good for one thing, and that’s the use of the member between their legs. When I want a man, I can go out and get one. They come in all shapes and sizes. When I find something I like, I stop at nothing until I get it. And for a few hours, it belongs to me.

I stared at myself in the mirror, wondering if I look good enough. My long dark hair is pinned back, showing the narrowness of my face. My dark skin is brightened and highlighted with makeup, my lashes long and shadowing over my dark eyes. My lips are accentuated with a deep red lipstick. My skin is flawless, and the way the black fabric of my dress laid against it was enticing. I only knew this because this wasn’t the first time I stepped out in this specific dress. I drew plenty of men in, and they refused to go until this thin fabric hit the floor. I adjusted the slit on the chest, making sure each breast had air to breath. Not enough to show the nipple, but enough to feel the cool night breeze against the skin. I gave a smile, proud of my looks, and as I turned and walked away, I could feel the excitement for the night to come.

The liquid is smooth as it washes across my tongue, sliding down my throat. I love champagne. It’s not the usual drink to request when downtown, especially, at a club like this. But tonight, I am celebrating. It’s my best friend’s birthday, and I pull out all the stops every year. And of course, this year wouldn’t be any different. She dressed in a matching red dress, both of us showing off our long legs and gorgeous curves. We’re hunting tonight. We sat in a darkened corner, watching red and green strobe lights move across the dance floor. The place was crowded, ages ranging from eight-teen to forty five. She likes the older, while I like the company of the younger.

“How about that one?” I asked her, standing up, leaning my body against a large grey pillar. She followed behind me. I titled my head up, indicating that the target was on the second floor. The man leaned against the railing, eyes scanning the dance floor, probably doing the same thing as us. He wore tight jeans, a white button shirt tucked in. The bright lights showed off his blonde hair. He stared down at us, seeing just how much we paid attention to him. He gave a smile, as if calling us over. I looked over my shoulder, eyes on Alisha. She stared back at me, her green eyes looking unimpressed.

“Not my type,” she spoke out.

“You mean not your age,” I thought out loud. He looked to be twenty-five. His face was fresh, meaning he probably wasn’t interested in what we were selling. And if he was, odds were, he wouldn’t be able to handle it.

“He’s your type,” she said, eyes searching. I shrugged. I’d break him. “Him.” I turned to see her eyeing a slightly older man. He sat by himself at a bar, looking as if he were drowning his sorrows in several shots. “Mature. Lonely, possibly shy man…” her voice trailed off.

“And possibly married.”

“Like we care,” she spoke in response. It was true. I’ve had my share of taken men, but her numbers heavily outweighed mine. The man loosened his tie. I guessed he had a long day at work.

“Go get him,” I replied. She smiled.

“I found one for you too.” I could feel butterflies in my chest. Tell me who, I thought. Her eyes darted in the opposite direction. I turned, the front of my body against the coldness of the pillar, as I took him in. He was tall. He had long dark hair. Most of it seemed to be combed to the back, but there were a few long strands hanging in front of his eyes. His head sat firmly on large shoulders. He seemed to be sweating, lost in the music. I stared, feeling the bass of the music beneath my feet. A light seemed to shine upon him, his face glowing. He seemed to be enjoying himself, loving the attention that his friends gave him as he danced the night away. “Do you like?” I took a deep breath, images going through my mind. I did like. I nodded my head.

“Can you get him for me?” I asked. I knew it was her birthday, and that I should be doing things for her, but she found me something that I had to have, and I was going to need help separating him from the crowd. Alisha said nothing, as she walked ahead of me. She would do anything for me, all I had to do was ask. She made her way through the crowd with ease, pretending to be lost in the hype, in the sounds blaring from the speakers. Soon, she was right where she needed to be. She placed her hand upon the man’s hips, catching his attention. He tried to look back at her, his dancing slowing down in confusion. Her green eyes sparkled up at him, as she placed her small chin on his shoulder. She moved with him. He blushed a bit.

“Hello,” she spoke.

"Uh- hi.”

“Someone wants your attention,” she breathed against his neck.

“Who?” She then walked away, leaving him even more confused. But along with that, was the sense of enticement. He stared after her. She made her way to me, pushing her body against mine as she placed her lips against my revealed shoulder, kissing lightly. I still stared at this man. Our eyes met. I swore I saw him gulp. Was it at my beauty, or was he afraid of what I wanted from him? And just like that, he began to stray. With every slow step, he drew closer.

“Thank you,” I said softly.

“Have fun,” she spoke into my ear, before heading towards her goal for the night. The man stood before me, staring down at me.

“I heard you wanted my attention.” His voice was deep, but loud over the music. I gave a slight smile, as I reached out and grabbed his hand. There was a burning in my chest. I burned for this man, and the fire would stay lit until he put it out.

The feeling of a man burying himself inside of you is one of the best feelings in the world. If they know what they’re doing, it’s like an out of body experience. The air is hot, your skin burning, your heart racing… You get lost. You feel your body trembling as you struggle to take it all in, not just the part of the man, but the moment itself. Every part of your being touched, whether it’s a soft caressing or an aggressive grabbing, it all just takes over you. That’s the feeling I’m obsessed with, that I crave. Most people don’t understand it. I don’t expect them to. What goes on in my personal life is no one else’s business.

His name is Daniel. He’s a college student, the age of twenty two and he’s trying to figure out what it is that he wants to do with his life. I forgot what he said he was going to college for. As a matter of fact, I don’t even think I asked. After all, it wasn’t important. To me, the only thing that mattered was his stamina. At such a young age, he did well. An hour. You may think that isn’t long, but I’ve to learn that it’s what you do in that amount of time that makes it count. One, he was a good kisser. Two, he was strong. Three, I liked the way he sounded when he moaned. Four, his dick was a decent size and five; he knew more than four positions. I think my standards may be a little low. Then again, I don’t expect much. Just a good ole fashion lay and then we move on with our lives. You know what the best thing is, he doesn’t know my name. Believe it or not, I think knowing someone’s name can be very personal. It’s how you identify yourself. In my night life, I prefer to be a mystery. It makes things more interesting. Daniel was a nice break. He also understood that I expected him to be gone by 6am. Or maybe he thought he was the one running game on me. Wouldn’t that be funny?

It’s a little bit of a slow burner. I’m still iffy on the plot. I like the writing tho and the fact that it’s a woman thinking and behaving like the man. I’m waiting for shit to hit the fan for her, or to see it this turns into an actual Romance novel

CHAPTER TWO: ALMOST TYPICAL DAY
My day starts at 6:30 am sharp. After my guests for the night leaves, I like to have thirty minutes to myself. I get a chance to lay out, watch the sun rise from the large windows of my bedroom. The whole world is gone for those thirty minutes. Every once and a while, I’ll doze back off. That thirty minutes is my peace. By seven, I am up, moving around. I start off by taking a hot shower, washing the sweat and the cologne of a man from my body. I proceed around the house, letting my skin air dry. I have a cup of coffee, choose my outfit for the day, and dry my hair. From there, I finally get dressed, and head out for the day. I like my privacy. So it’s only natural that my place would be isolated from the rest of the world. I have a two bedroom home, very modern, located on the top of a hill, overlooking the city of San Francisco. I am closed off from the neighbors, a rather large tan gate surrounding the property. Being a very successful black woman has its perks. You pro

CHAPTER THREE: TEAM QUALITY
Before leaving the board meeting, Mr. Davis stated that he would send a detailed email in regards to things he was expecting us to do if we wanted that spot. The first thing I did was go into the office, pull up the work email once again, and be disappointed that nothing had come yet. I didn’t have time to dwell, or just sit and wait. I had another meeting to prepare for. There was a project that had come in yesterday, before my fun filled night. A new nightclub opening up in the city. It was right up my alley and I was interested to see what my group could come up with. I opened the drawer to my left, pulling out a black binder that held all the information I needed to present the next project to group. Along with that, was a short presentation as well. Like young school kids, the seven members of my team walked into one of the smaller meeting rooms in a single file line. They each found a seat in black fluffy chairs and stared up at the white board, knowing that was wh

CHAPTER FOUR: ANDRE CANYON
Fifty five degrees and I am out here showing off my legs, arms and cleavage. Though I felt chills here and there, I didn’t regret my choice of clothing. Sexiness is something that I wear day in and day out. And I can only imagine what people were thinking about me, when they saw me withstanding the cold. Listen, if you can be sexy wearing turtleneck sweaters and jeans, great. That is good for you, but for me, I love showing the skin. I am comfortable in my skin, so why should I show it? Why shouldn’t I walk around it, letting everyone see? Why does what I wear affect other people? In my mind, I say it because they're jealous. They don’t have the balls to wear what I wear, to wear it so proudly, so confidently. In my eyes, it’s what makes me stand out. I had lunch at the same place every Tuesday, with the same person. I heard my heels hitting the concrete with every step I took, tightening the black thin trench coat around my body. The walk was short. It only took five minu

CHAPTER FIVE: NIGHT OUT
Bubbles. Bubbles make everything fun. If I had to admit, bubbles were the one thing that made me childish. I enjoyed bubbles in my hot bath, with a glass of champagne, bubbles at the top. And with soft music playing in the background, I blew the bubbles off my hands, watching as they flew back in the water that I had submerged myself in. The heat brought my body ease and helped with the slight soreness of my feet. That’s what I get for wearing those heels. I tossed my feet over the side of the tub, hearing the water swish around me, a few drops falling from my small toes into the while tile of the bathroom floor. I took a sip of my drink as I stared off into space, thinking of the night to come. First off, what was I wearing? The black dress was always a safe pick, but tonight I was feeling a little daring. What do young men these days like? Short and revealing. Lord knew I had plenty of that. What about colors? What catches their eye? My mind wandered to the cute blue dress that I ha

CHAPTER SIX: BAD APPLES
I guess the universe decided that I wasn’t prepared to handle two guys at once. Matt, Shane and I stayed at the club till 2 am, closing time. When we walked out into the cold dark air, I was under the impression that both of these boys were going to be climbing into the back seat of the cab with me, but to my surprise, Shane bailed. He made up some excuse, stating that he had class in a few hours. He rambled on about how tired he was already and how staying up even later would be a bad decision. I was a bit disappointed. After all, Shane was the one that I wanted the most. Matt wasn’t the greatest, but I had spent all of my time and my effort on him, no way was I going home alone. The drive to my home was hot. Young Matt had wandering fingers and those fingers somehow found themselves between my legs and in my sacred place. In and out they went, two fingers at time, at a slow pace. He was teasing, he was getting me ready. I didn’t mind. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have opened my legs wide

CHAPTER SEVEN: BAD APPLES 2.0
As usual, Karen met me by the elevators, coffee in hand and a large grin on her face. I didn’t say much to her this morning. Instead, I took the coffee and brought it to my lips. I was going to need more than two cups today, I thought to myself. My day was going to be full of travel and meetings. I wouldn’t be staying in one place for more than an hour. Once we walked into my office, Karen closed the glass door behind us, taking a seat in front of my desk. I sat across from her.  “Are you ready?” I asked her. A few weeks back, I gave Karen her first project that she would handle alone. I hadn’t seen her final proposal. I liked to be surprised. And when it came to Karen, I had a feeling that I would be disappointed. Not in her work, I was sure that her work would exceed my expectations, and I knew that it would put her name in others minds. Karen

CHAPTER EIGHT: THE STAND IN
Apartments and businesses are being thrown up around California, and there is only one company behind them. Kale Realty. And the man behind that is Kale Spencer. A man of mystery. Sure, everyone knows about his work, sees his name on plenty of properties, but the man of mystery has never been seen. He keeps his life very private. He’s done plenty of interviews, apparently, but he makes everyone sign an agreement that they would never tell what he looks like, but of course, that’s just what I heard. It all seems to be a little extreme if you ask me. It was twelve forty five and I found myself walking up a dark stairway of Ale’s Bistro, some Italian spot uptown. When I had requested a meeting with the legendary Kale Spencer, I was under the impression that he would have set it up at some swanky restaurant, but a mom and pop shop like this would do just fine. Taking a look around, it was more secluded. Not many people filled their tables. As soon as I walked in, I was approached by an o

CHAPTER NINE: PEER PRESSURE
5pm and I was finally on my way out the door. The office was dark and quiet for the most part, as everyone had left, ready for their weekend. I would have joined the large crowd at 4pm, if I hadn’t got lost in a phone conversation with Alisha. Being the good, nosey friend that she is, she wanted to know how my interview went with the infamous Kale Spencer. When I told her how it went, she was just as disappointed as I was. We just wanted to know the face of the man behind that name. It seemed that we were asking too much, that we had become just like everyone else. Intrigued. The man’s business life was no mystery, which I also shared with Alisha. And just like I was, she was impressed. From there, we talked about our weekend plans. I had told her that I thought about skipping out on Friday night dancing. To be honest, I was a bit tired. On average, I probably got about four to five hours of sleep a night, and it seemed like it was all catching up to me.“No one stays home on a Friday

CHAPTER TEN: THE DEER, THE BULLY, AND THE SAVIOR
When I am hunting, I swear I become a different person. It’s one of the hardest things to explain. I look at the world differently. I feel everything more intensely. Right now, the music surrounded me and I could feel my heart thumping along with the bass. Sounds seem to blur together and the world moves slower. I take it all in, looking for that one face that will make everything clear again. Maybe it’s the alcohol that seems to distort everything, but regardless, it will continue that way until I find my guy. My man of the night. When I spot him, there is a sense of peace, but at the same time, a sense of urgency. I have to have him. I will do anything to get him. It’s like a game of cat and mouse. I stalk. I catch. I play. And then either let them go, or kill them. It’s all a game. A game of strategy and tricks. I am good at what I do, and over time, I have learned to perfect it. I saw him as soon as he walked out onto the d
