To be honest, the stats don’t matter that much when talking about a character as great as this. She is very determined, talented and quite calm and collected. But the calm collected model can go from cold to very passionate in a second! This age is irrelevant. She is a strategist, a model, a competitor. This age is but a footnote to her wider role within the Galar region and its themes of performance and legacy.

It ended because of Marietta Edgecombe. Full stop. Much like he is an old 30 year old man, often grumpy, the young Master is quite opposite to that in his relentless pursuit ofiets with Itadori. His school uniform, and even Gojo’s way of treating the young man as if he were a protégé, while also enjoying to tease the boy, really show just how much his childhood as a child soldier has affected his life, and helped to shape his rather shy nature. He’s a child soldier in every sense of the word, and the story makes that very clear, even when he’s created giant divine dogs or is controlling complex domains.

That his power is not simply raw destructive power is great for a shonen series. His conflicting skillset of creation, strategy, skills etc., creates an intriguing and complex antagonist whose strength is based upon the ability to form an intricate Rube Goldberg machine of death that the protagonist must then reverse-engineer in order to disable and possibly even save their life in the process. This makes for a more interesting challenge for the protagonist as they have to somehow outwit him in order to either defeat or capture him without his means to cause destruction. Therefore, his ‘most powerful ability’ could very well be narrative. It makes for a more interesting and complex storyline, elevating the typical brawl between good and evil to a much more cerebral and complex battle of wits. As a huge fan of Nen, this is exactly what I want from a story.

This origin story showcases contrasts about Chefona: she is a very passionate and very hard person in the kitchen, but from her flashbacks you get to see a much more down-to-earth version of her. A young girl that cooked because her parents where getting divorced and food was her way of speaking. It’s a very messy but very relatable story and it makes sense why she is the way she is with her apprentices today, especially when she tries to re-create a dish that her mother used to make and it got discontinued. There’s even a poignant scene where she tries to “fix” a past memory by making this dish in order to change the outcome of it.

I have seen this same exact thing happen with other large content creators like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye in the past. Their fandoms would get into these crazy and often nonsensical debates about completely unverified information. It was all so weird and really only served to distract from the amazing content the creators were actually producing. Eventually though, most fan communities come to realize that these types of discussions are a drain on the community and eventually have to come to a place of establishing norms around what types of discussions are acceptable. I really hope that this community can skip all of that and establish the very obvious and healthy norm early on that we do not speculate about the private lives of creators.

Wait, isn’t Yuji 16? I could have sworn he was 16 when the story started. That would be revealed in the manga, I imagine. The anime doesn’t specify in a title card or anywhere. Based on typical ages in Japan, Yuji would be 15 or 16 as a 1st grader in high school, depending on his birth month. Since the story takes place in spring, and Yuji’s birthday is in March, he would have just turned 15 before entering high school. I think that is how it would work out. It’s one of those details that it’s easy to get wrong while watching, I think.
