This is a completed werewolf romance that surprised me by actually finishing! I have been burned so many times by stories left uncompleted that I started this one with great caution. I was afraid I would invest in the story and it would be abandoned half way through the chapters. But no. I was surprised by the end of the story. It was a miracle. This story is complete and I look at it with a bit more fondness for the author having respected my time and completed the story for me. Even though this story has some clichés and is not perfect as far as pacing, I would rather read a completed mediocre story than an amazing one that has been abandoned by the author. This story is far from mediocre though, it's a decent read for a good binge when you need that specific type of story read.

I read this because my friend was pressuring me to read it. The ending is really classic to the genre in that the heroes are able to overcome whatever last minute obstacles are thrown their way and defeat their rivals in a big, symbolic “uniting the pack” kind of way. Emma’s journey to be respected after being rejected by the pack is complete. Logan is fully committed as well. It was a really satisfying “ride off into the sunset” type of ending for the werewolf characters. Overall I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It doesn’t break a lot of new ground for the subgenre of dominant alpha male leading romantic interest who eventually learns to be adequate enough to earn the heroine’s love in a guaranteed HEA scenario. But it does a great job of delivering on all the familiar notes to ensure that the end is satisfying and the character moments are sweet. I did end up skimming through a lot of the longish pack politics sections towards the end in order to get back to Emma and Logan, but the moments that I read were quite nice.
