The generational aspect is often the most tragic part. It's never just about business. It's about a son trying to please a distant father, a daughter trying to escape her name, or a nephew seeking approval from a feared uncle. The crime is just the backdrop for the universal family drama, just with higher stakes and more concrete shoes.
The video game 'Mafia: Definitive Edition' (and the trilogy) tells a great linear story about a man rising in a crime family, but it's mostly one man's arc. 'Mafia II' and 'III' are connected, showing different perspectives in the same criminal universe across decades. You get a sense of the changing landscape—how the mob's influence wanes from the 40s/50s golden age to the 60s and 70s. Playing them in order gives a gut-level feel for the generational shift in organized crime in America.

After the death of her mother, Sienna Vale is taken in by her powerful, secretive stepfather and placed under the “protection” of his three mafia sons. But what begins as guardianship turns into something darker—and far more tempting.
As Sienna uncovers secrets about her past, her parentage, and the brutal world she now lives in, she finds herself falling deeper into a web of desire, danger, and forbidden love. The brothers were never meant to want her—but they do.
And someone wants her dead.
Each act raises the stakes:
Act I: Seduction begins. One of the brothers might betray her. Someone wants her gone.
Act II: She’s trained to survive—body and mind. Romance deepens. Rival mafias close in.
Act III: War explodes. Sienna becomes the queen of their underworld—but must choose between love and legacy.
After eight years trapped in a cruel Catholic orphanage, Anna never expected her freedom to come at the hands of dangerous Mafia men.
The father of the family that adopted her is a ruthless Mafia lord. In his world, kindness has a price, and nothing is done without reason.
And his two sons are both deadly attractive.
Leandro is very good at making Anna forget where she is. He treats her like she belongs, but his affection hides secrets just as dangerous as his father’s world.
Giovanni is the opposite--cold, disciplined, and bound by duty just like his father. Yet behind his sharp words and quiet glances, the tension between him and Anna sparks into something neither of them can deny.
Caught between the two brothers, Anna's hidden desire begins to surface.
In a house built on lies and power, love might be the most dangerous game of all.
Natalie Hayes had one plan, finish her degree, chase her dreams, and maybe finally tell her best friend's brother that she had been in love with him since tenth grade. Then two pink lines on a pregnancy test changed everything.
She is pregnant for Luca Wolfe, dangerous, powerful, and connected to the Vitale mafia empire, while still deeply in love with Bryan Rollins, the boy who has always shown up for her, and isn't walking out without a fight.
Forced into Luca's world for the safety of her unborn twins, Natalie navigates mafia politics, a powerful Don who considers her children his heirs, a rival family targeting her as leverage, and the impossible reality of falling in love with two men in two completely different ways.
As threats close in and her heart becomes harder to read, Natalie must decide who she is, what she wants, and whether the life she is building inside this complicated world is one she is choosing or one she is surviving.
Now Natalie's caught up to make an impossible choice between the boy who would die for her and the man who kills for her.
One woman. Two men. Three children. No easy answers.
It's complicated doesn't even begin to cover it.

Book 1 Saints and Sinners
She was the light to my dark.
The saint to my sinner. with her innocent eyes and devilish curves.
A Madonna that was meant to be admired but never touched.
Until someone took that innocence from her.
She left.
The darkness in my heart was finally complete.
I avenged her, I killed for her, but she never came back.
Until I saw her again. An angel dancing around a pole for money.
She didn’t know I owned that club. She didn’t know I was watching.
This time I won’t let her escape.
I will make her back into the girl I knew.
Whether she likes it or not.
Book 2 Judge and Jury
I can’t stop watching her.
I’m not even sure I want to.
Taylor Lawson, blonde, beautiful, and totally oblivious to how much dangers she’s in.
She’s also the one juror in my upcoming murder trial that hasn’t been bought.
The one who can put me behind bars for a very long time.
I know I should execute her.
After all that’s what I do.
I am the Judge.
I eliminate threats to The Family.
And Taylor is a threat.
But I don’t want to kill her.
Possessing her, making her love me seems like a much better plan for this particular Juror.
Isabella was born in the mafia, but she wasn’t born of royalty. All she knew was pain and ran away from a life of chaos and destruction before it could kill her.
Now, she’s older and a defense attorney living in New York City. All was going well until she received a letter from the one person who has always looked out for her. She was getting married and wanted Isabella to come home and witness her union.
Isabella wanted to refuse, but she knew she had to do it. Now that she’s back home, she’s thrusted back into the flames of Mafia life. A certain man has his eyes on her and won’t let her leave.
What will happen when Isabella learns that the very man who sets her body ablaze, is a man who runs the same Mafia she’s running from?
This is a story about finding love in all the wrong places, and how forgiving the past can open you up to a beautiful future.
Alright, I'm just here to see what everyone else says. I love crime sagas but I can never remember the series names off the top of my head. The comments are giving me a great reading list to dive into.
