Is There An Official English Translation Of The My House Of Horrors Novel?
I absolutely adore the original Chinese webnovel by I Fix Air Conditioner and hope there's an official English translation to recommend to my non-Mandarin speaking horror fan friends.

The fan translation remnants are like pieces of a shipwreck. You find a chunk of hull here (arcs 1-3 relatively complete), a piece of mast there (scattered later chapters), and a lot of empty ocean in between. Dedicated fans have tried to map the wreckage, creating reading guides and compiling what's available.
It's a community effort born of necessity. People share personal EPUBs they've cobbled together, always with the disclaimer that it's incomplete and the quality is uneven. It's a labor of love, but it's unsustainable for a work of this scale.
This patchwork access defines the current Western experience of the novel. It's not a curated, professional product; it's a salvage operation. There's a certain romance to that, but romance doesn't make the plot any easier to follow.

I tried the fan translation a long time ago and gave up because the names kept changing. One chapter it's 'Chen Ge,' the next it's 'Old Chen' or a completely different romanization. It was too distracting trying to keep track of who was who.
An official translation would standardize all that. Consistent names, consistent terminology for the ghosts and artifacts. It would make the complex plot actually followable. That's a huge part of what we're paying for—coherence.
Right now, reading it is an act of reconstruction. You're not just absorbing a story; you're piecing one together from disparate, irregular fragments. Some people enjoy that puzzle, but for most, it's just a barrier to enjoyment.

The most practical advice I can give is to set a Google Alert for the title. Use the Chinese characters if you can copy them: 我有一座恐怖屋. Also set alerts for 'My House of Horrors licensed' or 'official translation.' Then just forget about it and live your life.
If news ever breaks, you'll get an email. It's the least stressful way to stay in the loop without constantly searching and being disappointed. It outsources the disappointment to an automated system.
In the meantime, read other stuff. 'The Author's POV' has some similar meta-horror comedy vibes. 'Custom Made Demon King' has the system management aspect. They're not the same, but they might scratch a similar itch while we wait for the real thing.

At this point, my headcanon for the ending is probably better than whatever a rough translation would give me. I've imagined how the mysteries resolve. Maybe that's the way to go—treat the official translation as Act I and write your own Act II in your mind. It's not ideal, but it's a form of closure the real world hasn't provided.

Comparing it to other translated webnovels is painful. You see forums buzzing about the latest chapter of 'Omniscient Reader' or 'Trash of the Count's Family,' with official discussions and clean websites. Then you wander into a 'My House of Horrors' thread, and it's like a digital swap meet of broken links and 'does anyone have a copy of chapter...?'
It creates a weird hierarchy in the fandom. The have-nots looking in at the haves. It shouldn't be that way. A good story is a good story, and access shouldn't be this uneven. The success of other translations proves the model works, which makes this particular absence even more glaring.

I’m the heroine in an erotic story.
My specialty? Turning anything hot or cold into something steamy.
On the first day I landed in a horror game, the boss told everyone to choose how they wanted to die.
I smiled and said, “I’ll take shortness of breath, trembling legs, glazed eyes, and… pleasure so intense I die from it.”
Boss: “???”
“If you find yourself and your friends in a haunted mansion with sex demons, what would you do?”
***
So, five friends, a couple among them, decided to sign up for CNC group sex to celebrate their 20th birthday. But as soon as they stepped into the haunted mansion, they realized they were trapped, and the hot strangers they came to meet were actually monstrous sex demons. These demons were all about feeding on their sexual energies as they helped them hit climax after climax. But at what cost?

If you're easily aroused, grab a rose. If you're easily spooked, maybe snuggle up with a teddy bear before diving into this twisted tale.
The journey ahead will challenge your senses and push boundaries, so brace yourself for an experience that’s as thrilling as it is unsettling.

The novel that revolutionized psychological horror literature and redefined fear itself.
Welcome to the house that never sleeps... because it's busy haunting its inhabitants.
This towering building hides in the heart of a quiet Egyptian city, its heart throbbing with crime, madness, and screams that no one hears... except the walls.
In this place, everything begins with a single crime... Nasser, the father, a man in his fifties, suffocated by the shadows of his past, his mind collapsing behind a locked door.
In a moment of madness, he slaughtered his wife, Nour, with his own hands, opening a dark gateway that changed everything.
His son, Malek, the young man who tried to forget... found himself falling into an abyss with no bottom.
Voices haunt him... hallucinations suffocate him... and memories bleed every night.
And in this house, Malek begins his journey toward the abyss... Is he a victim? Or a killer in the making?
As for Sophia, the silent sister… she sinks into a hysteria no one understands,
This isn't a haunted house.
This is a conscious house… harboring hatred… and growing with blood.
Nightmares - Hysteria - Jinn Intervention - Victims Turned Killers
A terrifying collapse of the human mind when besieged by fear.
Crimes intertwined with supernatural forces, logic crumbling, and a terrifying reality slowly taking shape.
Detectives driven mad - a super-intelligent killer
Characters so vivid you'll feel their breath beside you.
A heart-wrenching climax that makes the last page an unforgettable stab.
If you think you've read horror literature before
If you think you know something about ghosts… then what is the truth about jinn? Do you believe in them?
If you think you can sleep after midnight...
You're mistaken.
Because this house doesn't haunt its victims it creates them.
For the sake of that fake heiress, my biological parents and brother threw me into a horror game to "teach me some manners."
The second the game started, the fake heiress, Nicole, went out of her way to provoke the ghosts nonstop.
Once she'd pissed them off, she shoved me in front of her to take the punishment.
As I lay there, tortured within an inch of my life, she planted her foot on my head and smirked.
"Mom and Dad already made it clear—I'm the only one they truly love. They only brought you back to keep me entertained! Letting you deal with those ghosts for me is more than generous. If you dare complain, once my brother and the others get back, they'll skin you alive."
In my past life, I treated them like family and gave in every single time. In the end, I was nothing but a stepping stone for them to beat the game—torn apart and devoured by over a dozen ghosts.
But now, I've been reborn.
"Welcome to Horror Instance: Happy Home."
The moment I heard that mechanical announcement, I slapped the arrogant Nicole so hard she flew across the room.
Because in this instance, the three bosses that terrorized every player… were all my family.
The red-dressed female ghost who killed without hesitation was my adoptive mother.
The monster with scissors for hands who ripped out hearts with a single swipe was my adoptive father.
And the ruthless warden who devoured people whole, leaving no bones behind, was my adoptive brother.
With them watching my back, why the hell would I keep putting up with this?
A mocking smile curled across my lips as I said, "You're on my turf; none of you are getting out alive."
When the owner of the horror game world summoned me home to reunite with my family, I was busy scolding the horrors in my dungeon.
After spending years as a dungeon boss, I finally learned that I was the heiress of the Swans in the real world.
The moment I stepped through the front door, carrying the gifts my horrors gave me on my back, the fake heiress shoved me hard to the ground.
"Don't even think you can come back and take my place! Mom and Dad will never love you!"
My birth parents treated me with indifference, made me sleep in the storage room, and used me to make their fake daughter look good.
At a banquet, my fiancé splashed red wine on me before acting intimate with the fake heiress right in front of my face.
It wasn't until the fake heiress was chosen to participate in 'Call of the Sea', a horror scenario, that they remembered my value.
Without any hesitation, they bound me to enter the game with her, gently reassuring her, "Don't worry, Anna, we'll make sure you're safe no matter what!"
"Don't be afraid, alright? Sylvia will die in your place!"
None of them noticed the mocking smile on my lips.
Silently, I spoke in my heart, 'Welcome to my dungeon! Now, none of you will leave alive!'
You know that moment when you hate someone so deeply you can barely breathe… yet your body still aches for their touch?
When revenge feels like foreplay and obsession becomes addiction?
When you tell yourself you’ll destroy him, but deep down you’re terrified you’ll beg him to ruin you instead?
That’s what waits for you inside these pages.

Look, if you loved the clever, system-based horror and the protagonist's insane bravery, the official translation gets all that across. The translator clearly understands the core loop of investigation, survival, and upgrade. Descriptions of the haunted scenarios are vivid and unsettling. They also do a good job with the game-like elements, making the skill acquisition and item usage clear. Where it sometimes falters is in the humor; the protagonist's deadpan reactions in dire situations don't always land with the same punch. But for the main attraction—the horror—it's thoroughly effective. You'll still jump at the shadows the story creates in your mind.
The manhua feels more... communal? It's easier to share a crazy panel on social media, to point and say 'look at this!' The novel's scares are a private, internal experience. Discussing the novel requires describing scenes and feelings, while discussing the manhua is often about the art. They foster different types of fan engagement.
I’m gonna throw 'The Elementals' by Michael McDowell into the ring, even though it’s Southern Gothic American. It’s too good not to mention for haunted houses and family secrets. Two Alabama families share a cluster of three Victorian houses on a remote beach, one of which is being consumed by sand and something else. The horror is tied to the land and the families’ intertwined, sordid histories. The 'haunting' is elemental, ancient, and deeply weird. McDowell’s writing is witty and lush, making the grotesque feel mundane and the mundane feel terrifying. The family dynamics—snobbery, resentment, buried affairs—are just as compelling as the supernatural threat.
Data usage is a thing to consider if you're not always on Wi-Fi. Some of these reading sites have heavy images, ads, and scripts that chew through data. Look for 'reader mode' options or use an app that caches chapters for offline reading. The official apps usually have download functions, which are perfect for commuting or travel. Plan your reading platform around your lifestyle.
from what I can tell, there isn't an official English translation available yet. I checked several major publishers and official sites, but no luck. Fan translations exist, but they vary in quality. If you're desperate to read it, you might have to rely on those or wait for an official release. I remember 'The Apothecary Diaries' took years to get an official translation, so patience might be key here. The lack of an official version is frustrating, but it’s not uncommon for niche titles.
