There’s legal free viewing of ‘Young Sheldon’ via free viewing of individual episodes, including ads. These episodes are generally available to stream on the network’s website and the official network app. As someone who is often in between subs or just want to view the odd episode to see if it’s any good, this type of viewing works very well for me.

For longer seasons I tend to scan around for free to stream services like Pluto TV, Tubi or Amazon Freevee which from time to time sign deals to offer particular TV series for free to stream and usually include all the seasons. (Free to stream with ads, not necessarily with no ads though). This isn’t permanent and occasionally aren’t even current but is free and ‘official’ to stream.

Finally, there’s also the option to subscribe temporarily to streaming services such as Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) where you can watch ‘Young Sheldon’ for free within a trial period or afterwards as part of a membership. And it makes me smile every time.

Within the US for streaming the show, expect TV‑PG ratings to be designated along with occasional light language or even more suggestive dialogue being noted with TV‑PG‑L or TV‑PG‑D designations. Any version claiming to have more scenes than what you have seen is likely a glitch or a mislabeled version. The fact that it ended at season 6 is understandable. The story that was to be told with ‘Young Sheldon’ had a built-in end. He’s a genius kid in advanced situations until he grows up to be the man in ‘The Big Bang Theory’. They hit all the important formative moments for him and then there was no need to continue the show. They could have continued it but then they would have run the risk of repeating plot points or watering down the main character in order to continue the show for the sake of continuing it. Instead, they were able to end it while the show was still strong and full of good chemistry and story. Also, the creative team of the series must have wanted to protect the tone and the emotional core of the show. It would have been terrible to stretch the show to keep the chemistry and the stories working, but to keep them in a way that wouldn’t have been true to the series, and to its fans. It was a respectful ending to the series and that’s all we can ask for.
