The Monitor stumbles upon the Joker's lifeless body, and a realization dawns on him: the future he once envisioned might still be possible, if only the man's life had unfolded differently. Moved by this thought, he resolves to intervene. He travels back through time, determined to rewrite the broken path before him. He grants the Joker a new life, a new name, and a family who might have loved him well. Yet fate does not bend so easily. Despite this second chance, things unravel in ways neither of them anticipated, and the struggle becomes less about circumstance than about the fragile grip on sanity itself. Old wounds resurface even in unfamiliar guises, and the peace the Monitor hoped to build proves elusive. Life refuses to follow the rules laid out for it, twisting and resisting every attempt at order, and the Joker remains suspended between the man he was meant to become and the darkness that always threatens to reclaim him.
