19 Minutes Summary Novels & Stories

This wasn’t something I could just skim through in thirty minutes. I clenched my jaw, refusing to let the frustration consume me. I would finish this. I would prove to him that I was more than capable. I worked as quickly as I could, taking notes, organizing the key points, making sure I wouldn’t miss anything important. By the time thirty minutes were up, I had a concise summary prepared. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good. I took a deep breath, stood up, and walked into his office. Carl was seated behind his desk, typing on his laptop. He didn’t look up when I placed the report in front of him.

I wondered how many minutes I’d endured so far and bit my lip. James, as per normal, instantly read my mind. “Five minutes down, one hour and fifty-five minutes to go. Time to get on with the warm-up, Lois.”

~Caden's POV~ The address itself runs a full forty minutes, considerably longer than the summit's usual allotted keynote slot, and not a single person in the packed room moves to interrupt her or hurry things along, the specific stillness of an attentive audience that has clearly recognized, partway through her remarks, that they are genuinely hearing something well worth the extra invested time.

Fifteen minutes pass, then twenty. At twenty-three minutes, the screen lights. Adrian has replied. “This one hurts less because it is true.”

“We already drank the poison, which means our ten minutes have started.” “That’s correct.” “And from our barely enough ten minutes, is all this nonsense speech, and somehow we have to answer three questions also from our ten minutes?” “That’s correct.” “How much time do we have left, and what happens if we can’t fit into this time?” “You both die. You currently have eight minutes and four seconds left, which is why you need to just shut up and listen.” Great! Just great! Umbra didn’t just do better, they evolved.

Will defends himself. "It's okay, we still have about 10 minutes," I reassure him as I quickly hug everyone else. To be precise, we have 8 minutes and 45 seconds, ticking down - 44, 43, 42, 41... and so on. "So, tell me, what did you want to give Alyanna?" Mark inquires, a question I had almost forgotten.

Frost looked at his watch and replied softly, "Just three minutes." Bianca widened her eyes in surprise and whispered, "No way!" She felt like it had been a long, long time. Frost started to explain enthusiastically, "Research abroad has found that 7-13 minutes is the ideal duration." Bianca looked inexplicably at Frost, who, though handsome, also had a kind of silliness about him.

Elliot swallowed. “The countdown has already started.” Silence crashed inside the tunnel. Then his tablet displayed a large red timer. 29:58 29:57 29:56 Nathan stared. “Oh, that’s fantastic.” There was a pause. “We’re being murdered by a stopwatch.” No one reacted. Because thirty minutes wasn’t enough. Not nearly enough. Then Dr. Laurent suddenly laughed softly. Everyone turned toward him immediately. “You think this is funny?” Adrian asked. His voice came out cold enough to freeze steel.

“Twenty-three minutes.” His voice sounds directly in our minds. I understand what that means instantly—it took us twenty-three minutes from the bottom of the cliff to this castle. We’re in a narrow hallway, dim and cheerless—It looks like a servant’s corridor. The walls are bare with suspicious dark streaks on the walls. There is also a faint metallic scent that I do not want to identify. Still looking at his watch, he continues to speak through the bond- “It’ll take roughly the same time to get back. That leaves us with exactly one hour and forty-seven minutes to move, gather intel, and regroup at the tree line.”

And I am tired of being so grown up. "What about the bus?" I ask. He checks his phone. "Ten twenty three. We have twenty seven minutes before the next one. That is enough time for pie." Twenty seven minutes. "Okay," I say. "Pie." He stands up first. He is taller than I thought. He must be six feet tall, maybe a little more. He holds out his hand to help me up, and I look at it for a moment. Long fingers. Pencil bump on the thumb.
