The emotional traffic jam that was now my home screen. I groaned into my hands. Okay. Cool. So now he’s 3000% sure I’m entangled in some tragic, messy, hormonal love drama. Fantastic. Absolutely great. Exactly the image I wanted to project. I opened my call log first. Fifty. FIFTY missed calls from Ethan. Spanning from yesterday afternoon to early this morning. He literally didn’t stop until my phone gave up and died. Honestly? Respect. Then Nick. I blinked.

It was some minutes after we chatted. 20 missed calls. That was strange. I dialed her number, as anxiety ate me up. She wasn't here, yet she called me 20 times. What was happening?! The call went to voice mail every time, leaving me frustrated. After a series of trials, I dropped my message, hoping she would call back, but 30 minutes passed, yet no calls or messages from her. Speaking of messages, I clicked on the message icon, scrolling to her name to see that she dropped me a message.

He doesn't say a word as he hands it to me, but I can tell the instant disappointment on his face. “What the hell!!” I scream as my finger almost drop my phone. The screen is a graveyard of notifications. 38 Missed Calls. All of them from Eden. I look at the top corner of the screen and the time reads 9:15 PM. Upon glimpsing the screen, I noted that the incoming call originated from an unfamiliar number, prompting me to ignore it and swiftly switch the device to silent mode. After my session with Grandpa Mitchell, I saw three more missed calls from the same number. There was also a message.

I need to talk to you." After that, likely because he didn't receive a reply, Tyler stopped sending messages. Kennedy switched out of the app and discovered Tyler had called her over ten times. She’d assumed from the messages that Tyler hadn’t called her after the afternoon, but unexpectedly, there were still over ten missed calls, the most recent one just fifteen minutes ago.

Time to turn it back on and face whatever messages might be waiting. The phone powered up with a cheerful chime, and then the notifications started flooding in. Text messages, voicemails, missed calls. The numbers kept climbing, little red badges appearing next to various apps. But it was the call log that made me stop walking entirely, standing frozen in the middle of the hallway while other NRMC employees moved around me. Fifty missed calls. All from Clara.
