Back to figuring out how to exist in this house for another day without accidentally setting off every landmine it seemed to contain. *One day,* I told myself, turning the corner toward the east wing corridor. *You just have to get through one day at a time.* The door to my room was exactly as I'd left it — slightly open, light on inside.
