The recording continued. “I don’t have much time.” Amara’s heart began racing. This was real. This was happening. Five years later… And they were hearing the voice of a man who was supposed to have died instantly.

“Bring her back by any means possible.” He looked around. “Remember, double the reward if she is alive.” Others chuckled coldly. “Nothing about not injuring her?” another asked. “No, just as long as she is breathing.” Cold sweat ran down my spine, and I pressed myself harder against the wall. I struggled against me wanting to run as fast as I could.

I turn to find how many of my pack are left. Eighteen… Eighteen survive.

The amazing thing is that we were the highest in number, we were fourteen yet only four of us survived.
