Luca drove up to park next to the large brick house that sat far off the road. With rose bushes in the garden and petunias in the window boxes, it looked more like a residence than it did a workplace. After Luca had parked his truck, I followed him inside the house through the empty garage. As soon as we walked inside, we were met by Bates, Blaine and Lincoln. Lincoln reached out to me, holding a phone and a small piece of equipment.

He said shrugging his shoulders. “Ambrose, I’m dead serious.” “Well, my parents are in Highmont. They’ve been living there happily for the past few years.” Ambrose finally revealed. “So, you’re just alone here?” “Bullseye.” He said as he jumped high up in the air pretending to shoot a ball. “Wait, I’m trying to understand things here.” I uttered refusing to accept the fact that Ambrose lives alone in this big ass almost mansion like house. “So you have this big ass house all to yourself?”

Felix’s voice turned deadly calm, fury barely contained. The sudden intensity made Gavin flinch. “She didn’t say specifically, but I can find out right away.” Felix nodded. Gavin immediately returned to his office and contacted the property management at Cloudcrest Residence. He soon got the information and hurried back to report. “Mr. Gibson, I checked. Ms. Gibson bought a unit in Building Eight, on the twentieth floor.” He hesitated before adding, “It’s the same building as Mr. Lincoln.” “She really—” Felix stopped himself and let out a slow breath.

They drove out to search, following the road west, one street after another. Mom leaned against the window, staring out, murmuring, "Lily... Lily, where are you?" Dad said nothing, but the car moved faster and faster. They searched for a very long time. Long enough for stores along the roadside to turn off their lights one by one. Long enough for the sidewalks to empty. The air in the car grew heavier, so heavy it seemed hard to breathe. After circling another empty street, Dad pulled over and sat in silence with both hands on the steering wheel.
