The Awakening

The Awakening

"The Sun. Presently, you feel lost and in a state of depression." The psychic's words cut through Sera to her very core, and she has to hide her shaking hands under the table. "You're letting your thoughts and worries thwart you and it's holding you back." "Temperance." The card depicts an Angel, wings outspread holding two cups. "Your biggest challenge is patience. You must relax, everything will unfold in due time. Worrying is not going to make your destiny happen any faster."

The Supernaturals

The Supernaturals

"The pentacle is a talisman that is used in magical evocation and is usually made of parchment, paper, cloth, or metal (although it can be of other materials), upon which a magical design is drawn. Protective symbols may also be included (sometimes on the reverse), a common one being the six-point form of the Seal of Solomon. Pentacles may be sewn to the chest of one's garment or maybe flat objects that hang from one's neck or are placed flat upon the ground or altar. Pentacles are almost always shaped like disks or flat circles. In the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, though, a pentacle is placed within the triangle of evocation.

She turned them around one by one and grabbed a book that had each meaning. "So, this one is "the high priestess", but it’s upside down. So that means a lost inner voice and repressed feelings. This one is "lovers", which means partnership or union. Don’t be scared about this one, but this is "Death"," she said, pointing to the third card. "It means the end of a cycle, new beginnings, or change. Well, there are two left. This one is "the emperor", which means authority and control, and then the last card is "judgment". It means awakening, reckoning, or reflection." I chuckled, "that’s a lot."

Miss Behave
I love this book as it is not only well written, but it also deals with subjects like domestic violence, and understandably this can be triggering I have found that it has been nothing but cathartic! Naomi D is a fantastic writer and I have enjoyed reading all of her books especially this one,
Jacquie

"The pentacle has meaning to you?" "Yes, I didn't get a chance to tell you, but the pentacle was a special symbol between my grandfather and me when I was growing up. We used to play Tarot cards for fun, and my indicator card always turned out to be from the suit of pentacles. I'm sure he stacked the deck, but pentacles got to be our little joke."

The Exiled Vampire’s Second Wife

The Exiled Vampire’s Second Wife

I laid each card with intention: my current position in life, what crosses me now, hidden influences, what led me to this point, internal influences, what lies ahead, my current attitude, external influences, my hopes or fears, and the likely outcome. My current position was the queen of swords. Someone independent but guarded. What crossed me was the page of cups in a reversed position. A page of cups usually meant some sort of message about love coming in, but since it was reversed it likely was because I wasn’t ready to listen to it yet. What led me to this point was the six of swords, a symbol of leaving and cutting off the past, moving on to a fresh start. thats exactly what I did when

THE HEIRESS THEY BURRIED

THE HEIRESS THEY BURRIED

Each one, Elara realized now, bore a small symbol etched into its base simple, deliberate, unmistakable once you knew to look. A pair of clasped hands. A single candle, half burned. A shield. An open book. A pair of scales. Two overlapping circles. “Trust,” Isaac read slowly, moving from one to the next. “Sacrifice. Loyalty. Memory. Truth. Mercy.” He looked up. “And Choice, on the last one.” “Seven recesses,” Vivienne said. “Seven of us.” “That can’t be a coincidence.” “Nothing about this has been a coincidence.”

What Hell May Come

What Hell May Come

Two chained demons, one male, one female, lay at a round pedestal at his feet. From what he remembered, the image represented mankind seduced by the material world and physical pleasures. A lust for power and money. Its opposition meaning—represented when the card was dealt upside down—meant a person chained in fear. One who lived in bondage to a more powerful image. The card had been slid into the notebook sideways, as if its symbolism was still up in the air. One that Jon was meant to choose.

Hazel then looks at Sunny and says, "This is a card of big changes, transformation, and, yes, sadly, endings. " Hazel then tells Sunny it’s time to take another card from the spread. So, Sunny reaches for a middle card and slides it out. Hazel flips the card over, and it’s the devil's card. The illustration on this card depicts a large devil sitting above two naked captives. Sunny assumes for herself that the people on the card are slaves because of the shackles that are fastened to them. ___ Hazel looks over at Sunny and says, "There is some kind of negativity in your life. “

Wrong Intentions

Wrong Intentions

“Sorry.” “Don’t be. Tell me, how badly do you need a release? Don’t lie or get embarrassed.” He wants me to tell him. I take a deep breath and decide to keep the answer simple. “Badly.” “Will you let me help you out? I promise no full on sex. I can give you the release you are so desperate for. No strings attached. I won’t even expect anything in return.” I eye him suspiciously. How many men give without expecting something in return? Not many I have met.

Princess Cromwell and Her Six Brothers

Princess Cromwell and Her Six Brothers

Amelia turned them over one by one: the upright Moon, the reversed Chariot, and the upright Devil. "Hiss." Eileen gasped softly, her expression changed. Amelia deliberately paused to create an uneasy atmosphere: "The Moon represents hidden truths and anxiety in the family. The reversed Chariot suggests conflict in family or relationships. And the Devil..." She paused: "Represents some kind of irresistible temptation." Eileen's fingers gripped her handbag tightly: "What... what does this mean?" "Are you sure you want to know?" Amelia asked softly, watching Eileen's reaction: "Once you know the answer, your anxiety will only increase."

الأسئلة الشائعة

There’s something quietly theatrical about the Eight of Swords upright that always makes me slow down and listen. When this card appears, the visual usually pops into my head: a figure bound and blindfolded, encircled by swords, standing in a marshy place. For me, that image isn’t doom so much as a spotlight on the mind — it’s a scene that screams 'you’re stuck, but mostly in your head.' In readings I treat it as a signal that the querent is trapped by beliefs, fear, or a story they keep telling themselves. It’s rarely about literal chains; it’s about the narrative that convinces us the chains are unbreakable. I like to ask: what word do you repeat to yourself about this situation? That’s usually where the work begins.

Context really reshapes this card. In an emotional spread it can point to anxiety about commitment or the suspicion that you can’t escape a relationship pattern. In a work layout it often highlights paralysis — endless overthinking before making a call, imagining worst-case scenarios, or feeling boxed by expectations. Pair it with an encouraging Major Arcana and I read it as a temporary mental block; paired with stern Swords it becomes a caution about self-sabotage. Practically, I give clients tiny, do-able tasks: move one foot forward (metaphorically or literally), make one five-minute phone call, write down three assumptions and challenge them. Those micro-actions break the inertia of the card.

Beyond interpretation, I treat the Eight of Swords as an invitation to compassionate curiosity. It’s a prompt to examine limiting beliefs, to map out who told you those rules, and to test them in safe ways. Breathing exercises, journaling prompts like 'what would I do if I weren’t afraid?', and asking for a second opinion from a friend often work wonders. Sometimes I bring up stories — not to preach, but to normalize being stuck: we all get tangled, even heroes. If you’re pulling this card for yourself, try scribbling down every worst-case scenario you imagine and then write a practical counter for each one. The card’s power lies in revealing that the trap has much more to do with perception than with reality, and that small steps can reveal exits you hadn’t noticed.
