Vincenzo was not in sight, but his men were. They formed a loose circle near the warehouse door, their shoulders tense, their eyes narrowed. They were armed but hesitant. Even rats knew fear.
Dante raised a hand, stopping his own men from pulling out their guns.
He wanted this simple. No scenes. No noise. No mess that Iris would hear about even though the messes will make her useful, based on the signed contract.
He walked forward alone, meeting one of Vincenzo’s men. “Where is your boss?” Dante asked.
