My Alaskan Mountain Man

My Alaskan Mountain Man

Every time he speaks it makes my insides melt a little more with nervousness. He turns to walk out, then turns back, “ Are you comfortable?” Just wishing he would go now so I can gather the last of my self respect and bury my head under the covers for the rest of the day. I reply, “yes, thank you”. That seems to appease him and he smiles that lovely smile of his and turns and leaves me to ponder on how I actually got to be here, on an Alaskan mountain, during the biggest snow storm of the century, with a woman doctor and her sheriff husband, and this enticingly good looking Alaskan mountain man, without my sister?

In search of true heart

In search of true heart

Her innocent, affectionate nature had touched him deeply, and he couldn't help but feel a protective instinct towards her. He stood up and walked to the window, gazing out at the serene landscape of Manali. The mountains stood tall and majestic, their peaks touching the sky, while the valley below was blanketed in a lush green that seemed to stretch endlessly. The beauty of the place mirrored the complexity of his thoughts.

Home to the Mountains

Home to the Mountains

He knows these woods like the back of his hand, and it shows. When we step into a clearing, I'm thankful there are no animals nearby, because I gasp. THe view is beautiful. THe mountains rise up above the tree line topped in snow. It's the most breathtaking sight I've ever seen in person. Axel looks at me first with concern to make sure I'm alright, and then with delight. "I thought views like this only existed on postcards or in magazines," I say in awe, as I look around. If only I had a way to capture this in a photograph or painting, yet , I know I'd never do it justice.

Claimed By The Outlaw

Claimed By The Outlaw

She read them with Colt beside her and sometimes she read passages aloud and sometimes she did not and he never asked her to do either. The letters were the voice of a man who had been good at paying attention. He wrote about the mountains and the people in them and the specific quality of a place that had decided to be something. He wrote about Dutch and Rafe's predecessor and other people she would never meet. He wrote about riding the mountain road and what it felt like when the world was the right size. He did not write about Elena or the cavern or what he was carrying. She understood that. The letters were the life he was living, not the weight he was managing, because the weight was so

Alpha Rex.

Alpha Rex.

Beside me, Isabella stopped breathing. The man slowly lifted his head. And looked directly at our window. Impossible. The distance was too great. The storm too heavy. Yet somehow I knew. He was looking at her. Only her. A smile appeared on his face. Not cruel. Not violent. Familiar. The kind of smile someone gives family after a long separation. Then the man raised one hand. The mountain shook. Not once. Not twice. Three times. Deep cracks spread across the floor of the council hall.

Bound to the Alpha’s will

Bound to the Alpha’s will

Out of the trees came a figure. A man. Or nearly one. His skin was pale, his black robes brushing the forest floor. His eyes were silver, gleaming softly in the dim light. I didn’t recognize him. But I recognized the power rolling off him in waves. Over his sword, Shaun's hand lingered. “Who are you?” The man didn’t answer. His stare latched onto me. He whispered, "You look for the mountains." “But you do not understand what awaits you there.”

The Rise of the Frost Dragons (Blue Triangle Series #2)

The Rise of the Frost Dragons (Blue Triangle Series #2)

Arth must not let this happen. “We’re here,” Edric spoke. Ruby said something to the dragon, and they descended. Arth looked down ahead, only to see a wide slope of a high mountain. Aside from dark rocks and boulders … nothing else seemed visible in his eyes. It was until the dragon flew upward along with the slope, then over the mountain, that Arth spotted a lone man at the peak, who seemed to be a watcher. The next they flew past the man, and then the dragon once again descended, following along the downward slope of the mountain. At its foot, large boulders rested on the ground, showing no signs of any community. The base land was surrounded also by mountains that made Arth think this was

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

Hence, the cultivator happily gave his storage sack, and Caspian and Solana were puzzled over his joyous expression. At the same time, in the stream near the Hopeful Woman Mountain, a man with long hair covering his face leaped several times from high places in a strange posture. Soon, he returned to the bottom of the mountain stream, where a tall and burly man, a man with heavy makeup, as well as a short-haired woman waited for him. "It's done,” the man with his face covered by his long hair smiled eerily, “once the news spreads, it'll not take long before those sects' disciples rush over in the hope to kill the monster and make a name for themselves!"

What happened to the original writer of this book? The new writer is a far cry from the first one in terms of style, creativity, dialogue and story telling. He has turned a once very arresting story into a very boring one. It is sad.

The Mafia Man

The Mafia Man

If they found us, they would come to an untimely death. If they weren't dead before we got off their land. We'd kill every fucker to get to them and take them down and grab the girls and leave. Everything was all so simple but the simplest of things could still go balls up. We entered the bumpy terrain and headed up the mountains to their villa where we knew they would be. We all pulled up and got out of the cars. Something was seriously off. It was quiet, way too quiet. Take a look around. It smells like shit. I don't like it. Watch your back."

Of Wolves and Men

Of Wolves and Men

I choked out between coughs as I robotically moved my arms to keep my body upright and away from this frightening character. “Is that his name?” the man asked with a deep, raspy voice that had a hint of growl in it. “He’s fine. He’s just been tranquilized.” “Tranquilized!” I exclaimed with dismay. I’d finally coughed away enough water to be able to breathe and talk. “Why?” “So he wouldn’t bite me, of course,” the man said with humor. Working my arms so that I was moving toward the shore while still looking at him, I asked, “Who are you?”
