Although they don't look like ordinary people with different hair colors, eyes, and species, except for Camila, I'm not afraid of them. I'm having a good time chatting with them, and I learned much about who they are. Saye, Arlo, and Jippis are demons. I thought demons were scary and ugly looking, red with horns, and had a snake-like tongue, always red and surrounded by fire to represent hell that wants to eat your soul. You always see them on Halloween posters or costumes; Saye, Arlo, and Jippis don't look like that. They don't look scary at all. I feel like they came out of a comic book, like a superhero.

Tripping over her feet, Journee caught the railing and looked up. No one has noticed her yet, so she thought. The Demon King felt the frantic chaos in Journee’s mind, clawing and grasping for some sort of divine aid. He was not bothered by the old woman’s cry, but Journee’s heart pounded like sledgehammers in her chest as her anguish rendered him helpless. The air was thick with the stench of sulfur and brimstone. Demons swarmed in like a relentless tidal wave, their screeches and snarls filling the air with terror. All the demons in the front were blasted back into the ones behind, making them all stagger and fall and be pushed aside like a bulldozer was clearing the way. Ruben flicked his wrist and long sharp icicles shot out lining the way, stabbing into the ground at the demons’ feet as they scrambled up, stopping them from surging forward again and making an avenue through them. Ruben then encased both himself and Kat in a shimmering golden protective ward of light as he started to walk through the waiting demons. The texture of the mattress underneath my body was exactly the same as the one I spent most of my nights on, before I went to prison. The silky dark sheets around me. I tried to move my hands, but I couldn't, well turns out that my hands were tied to the bed, on either side with cuffs. Luckily, my legs weren't tied up, so I still have some means of defense.
