Blood pours from her chest, and my eyes see nothing but red. Rage overflows from every pore in my body. My skin explodes, and white fur covers me. The whole room fills with a blinding red glow. I turn towards the beautifully evil witch and sink my teeth into her throat before she can even gasp.

He looked at Kaden, then at the cage, then at the three witches who were now backing away. “You want blood?” Kael said, his voice rough. “I’ll give you blood.” He slashed his other palm and pressed both hands together, letting the blood pool in his cupped fingers. Then he flung it at the nearest witch. The moment the blood touched her, she screamed. It wasn’t the wet, gurgling laugh from before. It was a shriek of pure agony. Her smoky form flickered, then solidified, then started to burn from the inside out. The light was blinding, white-hot, and when it faded, there was nothing left but a pile of scorched silk.
