Soulbound

Soulbound

They moved in slow, synchronized patterns, their heads tilted slightly upward as though listening to something only they could hear. “Lost souls?” one reaper asked, voice trembling. “No,” Veyra said softly. “Not lost. Bound.” The figures began to hum. The sound built slowly, harmonizing in layers, until the tunnel vibrated with it. The Hollow Choir. Every reaper in the Citadel knew the legend — that the first souls who defied Death were not erased, but bound beneath the Vein, their voices woven into its foundation as a warning. But the legend had always been just that — a myth.

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

And then, she felt it. It wasn't aggressive. It wasn't hungry. It was… lonely. A loneliness so vast and so complete it made the Composer's loneliness feel like a passing sadness. This was a loneliness that had never known anything else. It had never known light, or sound, or touch. It was the loneliness of the void before creation. It saw the vibrant song of life not as an enemy, but as a painful reminder of everything it could never have. And so, it did the only thing it knew how to do. It spread its own nature. It made everything else like itself. Empty. Silent. Safe.

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

The beings gathered around one another. Sharing thoughts. Sharing memories. Sharing existence itself. No loneliness. No separation. Only connection. The sight was beautiful. Then Ama noticed something. One figure stood apart from the others. Watching. Waiting. Alone. The vision paused around it. The Witness whispered: The first lonely thing. A chill ran through Ama. The figure was not evil. Not monstrous. Not cruel. Just alone. Endlessly. Painfully. Alone. The other beings moved together. Sharing.

I'm an Outsider in My Own Home

I'm an Outsider in My Own Home

It took Mom a long moment before she finally spat out, "You psychopathic, ungrateful brat! If I'd known you'd turn out like this, I never would have kept you in the first place!" I hung up without a flicker of emotion. Another half a year went by. By then, the entrance to that once-dark, dank basement had been transformed by my handiwork into something full of life. A breeze drifted through the hallway, setting the handmade wind chimes tinkling. I'd bought a few cheap potted plants and placed them along both sides of the steps. The entire first floor of that shabby old apartment building seemed to have come alive. My interactions with Isabella also became more frequent. She still put on that

Lost Soul

Lost Soul

That year, I fell in love. I watch as the stars glow and the wind howled. It's as if I'm still here, body, mind, and soul. Even in the afterlife, he has so much of me. Does he even think of me? When he learned of my demise, did he even shed a tear? I shook my head as memories start to flood all over again. Flashes of our days together, me and Devon running down the stairs of the school's fire exit so he could kiss me deeply and whisper things like, "God you're so beautiful Hannah, I'm so crazy for you..." and I would kiss him back with the same need and passion because I felt it. He was beautiful, magnificent, he was my soulmate...but, why am I alone now? Cold and dead and he was there slumb

In My Lonesomeness

In My Lonesomeness

My grip tightened around the phone as I repeated Evelyn's mother's message to him exactly, but Julian said in a provoking tone, "Sorry, but Evelyn's having dinner with me tonight. You can go back to the Brook Residence by yourself." That night, I had no choice but to go to the Brook Residence alone. What I didn't expect was that my foster sister Claire was there, too. She was sitting there chatting with Evelyn's mother, Dana. When Claire saw me, she raised a brow. "Why are you here alone? Where's Evelyn?" My fists tightened a little. I kept my voice as steady as I could. "Evelyn still has work at the office, so she can't make it." The next second, the door opened, and Evelyn walked in holdin

Two Lost Souls

Two Lost Souls

As she closes her eyes slowly, she breathes out. "Come on, Mochi. While you go eat, I'll maybe do some running." And like she told her kitten, she went outside to the beach and started her running. They say running reduces feelings of loneliness and isolation. While she run, her tears are making her vision blurry but it didn't stop her from running. How dare they! The text from Bella saying, 'thank you for welcoming me home and for the dinner. I'm glad you enjoyed my company' really messed her feelings up!

Tortured Soul

Tortured Soul

I only knew that days have passed because each passing day was indicated by the small window on the ceiling. I would see the sun and then a blank sky before I would see the moon and the stars. One thing was certain and that was the fact that I would never eat garbage. Never. The woman had been coming once a day to feed me garbage but I always rejected. This was the fourteenth day now and I could already feel the worms eating up my stomach. I felt like this was going to be it for me. This is how I would die alone in a dark room where no one could find me.

Rebound to the Lycan Alpha

Rebound to the Lycan Alpha

“Not me, you—” “No! Please! Leave them alone!” “Shhh!” He hushed and Carys lips pressed tightly into a line. She shook her head, shutting her eyes. “We are in my space, the Blank Space and I had designed this place especially to escape death. So yeah, death reaches here, but slowly, very slowly. Slow enough for me to interrupt his path, disrupt his plan and escape his clutch. And the deaths I cause turn into soul ink that is used to sustain the Blank Space. Such souls don’t return to death or life cycle. They are forever lost in Blank Space. Like your precious mother, and all those who were turned into soul ink will forever be trapped in this space. How about we add their souls to this colle

I have very specific authors that I read from in these apps like a Jessica Hall and Moonlight Muse, but I think I may have just found a favorite to add to the list! This story is absolutely amazing! It pulls you in from the beginning with betrayal, pain, lust, love and an amazing adventure of magic!
Michaela Kotrmanová
