Ex-husband’s Regret: Revenge So Sweet

Ex-husband’s Regret: Revenge So Sweet

I scoff, the sound hard and empty, echoing off the silence of this damn house. It’s been weeks. Weeks of waking up alone. Of this suffocating loneliness that wraps around me like a second skin. The pain of Sophia’s death hasn’t dulled; it’s just settled deeper. Engraved in bone. And no amount of drinking, no amount of silence can make it leave.

Haven’t gotten far in the book. But if Alexander and Bel don’t discover that everything is a lie and get back together I will be so mad. Both were drugged and set up. Absolutely no reason to make them be enemies by the end. If that is the plan then this story should have been set up differently.

I waited till the end to drop a comment, and I’m glad I did. Author, you did so well. I was a bit confused at some point, but you tied everything together beautifully. This is a solid 10/10. I’ll miss the characters, especially Roy. Thank you for this amazing story. I’m looking forward to more works

The Luna Queen's Revenge

The Luna Queen's Revenge

The smell of my unwashed body lingered, a harsh reminder of how things had gotten. Loneliness pressed down on me like a heavy weight. The silence was only broken by the occasional sound of rodents scurrying around, my only buddies in this cold, lonely space. The wolf inside me seemed to share my hunger, a quiet partner in this tough time. Lying on the hard stone floor, time felt like it blurred. The rhythmic drip of water served as a haunting beat, counting the never-ending moments of being alone. The darkness pushed against me, and the emptiness stuck to me like a second skin.

Love, Covid and Everything in Between

Love, Covid and Everything in Between

The closest thing to a friend I have right now is Nelson, from next door, who’s an even bigger bibliophile than I am. It took me quite some time to get used to living alone in the house my grandmother had left me. On most days, I feel lonely. I feel like all my life has been about holding myself together with tape and glue. Every day I’m trying to keep myself from falling apart. So things like online book auctions, reading, watching horror and thrillers and writing — these things take my mind off the loneliness. While I was drowning myself in thought, I got an iMessage from Nelson.

After Divorcing My Husband, I became His Boss

After Divorcing My Husband, I became His Boss

Hayes POV: The silence was unbearable. Without her, the walls felt like they were closing in on me. I never thought I’d know what loneliness truly meant. But tonight, as I sit in this empty apartment, I feel it clawing at my chest like some wild animal that refuses to let go. The place is too quiet. No footsteps echoing in the hallway, no soft humming from the kitchen, no scent of perfume lingering in the air. Just the stale smell of old whiskey and the faint hum of the refrigerator.

Sacrificed My Kidney for a Cheat

Sacrificed My Kidney for a Cheat

They go in a circle, days following days; either in utter silence or choking to death. Every morning, I get up, in the same bed, in the same damp, chilly, uncomfortable room wanting the day something will be different. But it never does. Kylo is still absent, and I am still alive, to suffer in this house which is gradually transforming into a mausoleum with every passing day. This loneliness lingers like an old friend that follows one around, but an unwelcome friend all the same. I attempted to keep the days occupied, keep the mind busy with something that could occupy and possibly distract from the growing anxiety and void within me, and it only grows harder to conceal.

Bestie's Alpha Brother

Bestie's Alpha Brother

Ethan hadn’t died, but he had shattered my heart with his infidelity—and now that he had been banished, perhaps he was as good as dead. Not that that made what had happened anything at all akin to the hell Leonard had gone through when he had lost his wife. Perhaps sensing my realization, Leonard offered me a rueful smile. “We’re two of a kind in that regard, I suppose. Two lonely souls merely trying to find a bit of companionship in this world.” His words resonated deeply inside of me, giving voice to the quiet ache I so often smothered in the busyness of day-to-day life. I knew, then, that he was right; I was lonely. More lonely than I had thought.

When Love Cuts Deep, Loneliness Bleeds

When Love Cuts Deep, Loneliness Bleeds

"Gabriella, when you come back, you'll still belong to me. But I won't let you bring another man's child into my life." With that, he addressed the man, "Doctor, go ahead." Clinton's words hit me like a bucket of ice water, chilling me to the bone. He knew my only wish was to have a child with the man I loved. And still, he crushed it without a second thought. The doctor stepped into the bathroom, pulled down his mask, and reached for me with a twisted grin. To my horror, he wasn't a doctor at all. It was Landon! "Let me out, Clinton! Roxanne's played you! He's not a doctor—"

The Healer and The Beast

The Healer and The Beast

"I was desperately lonely, Sena. That is why I spent every possible moment at your bedside, talking to you even when you could not respond." His silver eyes grew distant as he continued. "I did not want you to feel the isolation I was experiencing. I know what loneliness can do to a person, how it can drive you to the edge of madness. So I filled the silence with my voice, hoping that somehow, wherever you were, you could hear me and know you were not abandoned."

The Price of A Bet

The Price of A Bet

Vivian Hayes sat in her dimly lit apartment, staring at the untouched glass of wine on the coffee table. The city skyline stretched beyond her window, lights blinking like distant stars, but none of it comforted her. The silence pressed against her, heavy and suffocating. She had always known loneliness, but tonight, it felt unbearable.

Alpha Ethan

Alpha Ethan

Liana’s POV Ihave been alone since my mother died. The loneliness has always spread through my body like rot. Even though I am continuously surrounded by people, it has lurked beneath my skin and threatened to consume me. This morning, when I wake up alone, it feels different. It’s an alone where I can hear my own thoughts; they mingle with the gentle patter of rain against the thin window. For once, I don’t have to perform to anyone, because there are no ladies-in-waiting ushering me out of bed. Instead, I can lie bundled up in the soft quilt in a room filled with intriguing piles of books and sweet-scented herbs.
