he said as Amira got to him. “You are going home tomorrow?” Amira asked. Kate was still on the call, she could hear her. “Do you want to leave me? Don't leave.” Amira added and Aiden sighed before ending the call. She was really high. “Why are you going home?” Amira asked and folded her arms. “Christmas.” “Really? I don't celebrate Christmas, I am not going anywhere.” “Oh,” Aiden muttered. Amira looked down and moved her feet like a child.

I returned the kiss, “I can’t believe I hired you to be my boyfriend for Christmas and now you are my husband and we have a daughter.” “Who would have thought I would follow a stranger home for Christmas? Then again life happens,” Ace said, then locked his lips with mine.

"Can you believe it? I just knew how thrilled you were going to be to see him come home, and on this of all perfect days. He's the best gift you could get this Christmas, isn't he?" Slowly, Gram nodded her head. "Deacon. Welcome home, sweetheart." She threw open her arms and enfolded me to her, hugging me tight. I let myself relax in the familiar comfort of everything Gram: the scent of home, of cooking, of the hairspray she'd used all my life and of the lavender she added to her homemade laundry soap. It was everything I'd missed in the past year. "Gram." To my embarrassment, I was blinking back tears. "I'm so happy to see you."

He asks, his eyes dropping to my chest, and I suck in a breath when he twirls his finger around the hard bud. "I thought you were giving me time. " I tell him and he nods, "I'm not doing anything, baby. Just merely playing with my babies. " I shake my head with a laugh before saying, "For the first half. We have to go home for Christmas, remember?" He nods and lifts his gaze to mine. "Right. December. " "You don't sound so happy about that. You aren't coming?"

"Well, I think the right thing for me right now is to stay here." "I'm glad to hear that, this is your home and this is where you belong, with your family," he says and in response I nod, but the truth is this is where I least feel like I belong. "Dessert's here!" mom exclaims, and it's just at that instant that the clock chimes twelve o'clock at night and the sound of fireworks echoes from outside. "Merry Christmas everyone!" "Merry Christmas, Clau," says Ethan, who is the first to hug me.

"Ok, let me see what time dinner is and I will let you know." Back in his room he wrapped the gifts, showered and then decided to call home. "Hey mom!" "TJ! It's great to hear your voice. How is the weather out there in Wisconsin?" his mom asked. "Mom, I am back in Philly and staying with a friend. I was wondering if you have room for 1 more at your table tomorrow? I would like to come home for Christmas." Finn tried to say all of that with confidence. Finn's mom exclaimed, "Oh! That is wonderful darling. This is such a wonderful surprise. Looking forward to seeing you then. Dinner is at 3 and we are having your Uncle John and Aunt Laura over too. Oh and your father will be so happy."
