Angie says. I look across at the other pack members. There is one wolf who is solid black with white eyes. He is breathtaking. “Who is that?” I ask Angie. I keep staring at the beautiful creature across the water. I am completely mesmerized by him. It feels like I know him. “Girl, that is Erick; he is the Alpha’s son and our future Alpha,” Angie says. “He is yummy,” I say. “You should see him in human form. He is a deliciously dark treat. His skin is like a chocolate bar, and I would love to devour him whole,” Angie says.

I can’t even look away from Alpha Salvatore, and he’s just holding my gaze as everything disrupts around me. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see some of the white wolves getting pinned down. I want to tell them to fight, to help each other, but I can’t even move my own lips. I can only watch in stunned silence as some of them gets torn open right in front of me, feasted on by the big black wolves like it’s nothing. I can feel Vega recoiling as she witnesses the carnage. “That’s vile,” she says in an appalled tone. “It’s against the law of nature to consume humans, much less other wolves. . . .”

I whisper conspiratorially. “Poor dear.” The human raises her eyebrows, cracking her caked-on foundation. “She sees wolves, you say?” “Hm. Werewolves. She’s really unwell and I need to find her. Was she with a young woman? Blonde, about this high.” I hold my hand up to the middle of my chest. “Big grey eyes. Really pretty.” “She was kind of pretty I suppose,” the human says with a sour expression on her face. “You know…the pretty in the right kind of light sort.”

Terrified, my wolf and I let out a collective howl. Swiftly regaining control, I shifted back, witnessing the man's eyes widen in awe before he crumpled to the ground. Concerned, I approached and bent down for a closer inspection. His features were strikingly handsome, his physique well-built. "He is a human," my wolf pointed out. "Obviously." Tales of human wickedness and danger echoed in my mind, yet encountering one was bizarre. Humans and wolves had never coexisted. I used to believe they were mere myths.

I growl at him who chuckles and he begins to gently touch the wolf’s face. What’s he doing? I knit my brows anxiously and he does something unthinkable by suddenly pushing the wolf away. I frown with teeth gnashing and the wolf whimpers from pain. What? Is this what he takes pleasure in, torturing animals? ‘This sick psychopath!’ I move forward, ready to bark at him when my eyes accidentally trail over to the wolf, and something more electrifying than the taser, sears into my being so gobsmackingly. Right before my eyes...the once silver wolf is transforming into a- human?

I suddenly realized that I was actually gazing at a Wolf and not a werewolf. "Stop on her. Rafa yelled, running up to us but failing to get the Wolf off of me. "Get the fuck off her!" The Wolf was the same size as a werewolf, but I couldn't tell because of his darker, savage eyes or lack of humanity. I suddenly realized that one of the Yellowstone Wolves was standing on top of me. My thoughts kept returning to Levi's words: "He went full Wolf, he lost his humanity."

"You can't treat people as wolves. You have to treat people as people. Even when I'm all wolf, I understand what it is to be man. As man, I understand what it is to be wolf. There's a balance. "Can you not understand? An omega is a wolf, and wolves are animals. The members of your pack are human as well as wolf. The miracle of being what we are is being human regardless of form!"

So last night was horrible. I believed I would turn into pizza if I really thought about it. I tried thinking about something else and ended up with Cookies that everyone loves. After I shifted, I was feeling really uncomfortable and pleaded to my wolf to bring back my human form. Yes, I begged. I didn't know how to do any of the things my wolf knew about. Eclipse, my wolf, agreed only on one condition. Let her transform back freely? Pfft, no. She asked for a date with Alpha. A special date where we both act exquisite and dance the night away.
