The letter goes as so ★ My King, may you reign forever. I know this might come as a surprise to you, the fact that I am writing to you after you had my father killed. This isn't a threat message, rather I am writing to tell you thank you. Yes thank you because today you have done a great service to the world by removing a very terrible man. You have no idea the vile and horrible things my father has done. A father who is willing to murder his own son for the throne is capable of doing anything. He truly is an evil man and I am glad I could help in bringing his terror to an end.

"He hoped you'd never need that letter. But he wrote it because he knew you probably would." I looked down at the letter in my hands. The paper was damp from my tears and the ink had smudged in places where I'd pressed my fingers too hard against the words. My father's handwriting stared back at me, shaky and cramped and real, and I read the last line again. Walk back into whatever room tried to break you and show them exactly what they missed. "You said you could train me," I said.

This is his handwriting, I didn’t know when the tears fell, with shaky hands, I opened the letter; Dear McKenna, My sweet little princess, how you have grown into such a beautiful and loving woman. I recognized it instantly - my father. The letter read: Cara, You think you’re free, but the past is patient. I will see you soon. No signature.

The celebration became joyful because everyone was present. "Happy Father's Day, Dad!" I hugged my dad tightly because it had been a month since they visited us. "Same to you, my son. I turned my attention to the piece of paper I was holding; it was handed to me by Lauren earlier. I couldn't help but shed tears as I opened it. She paused as she looked at her Father's scrawny writing on the paper. Those words were heavy to read out just as they had been heavy to leave his mouth.

Now being pregnant myself I knew the difficulties she went through. That night I sat in our room and wrote him a letter. I told her about my pregnancy and that I would visit him sometime.
