“I know this letter has already been found by now. I'm such an oldie, you know? I mean, who sends letters these days? But I felt the need to write it for you, my girl. You’re so strong, you know. I might be your dad, but I admire you greatly. I know what you endured for me, even the things you didn’t say out loud. I appreciate every single one.

(Alessio's POV) My eyes scanned every word of the letter Lisa's father had written. Each line was filled with longing and desperation, describing how much he missed his daughter and wished for her return. It was heartfelt and raw, written with the emotions of a father who would move heaven and earth for his child.

My father sat beneath the weight of his crown, eyes tired but unsoftened. “Serena?” Surprise roughened his voice. “Back so soon?” I stepped forward and offered the letter with both hands. “Father,” I said, steady as I could make it. “We need to talk.”

I will have to spend thirty more days without him here. Dear Catherine. How have you been my little girl? I know the life out there is not easy at all. But I hope, one day, when you’re older, you’ll understand that loving someone doesn’t always come wrapped in kindness. Sometimes it comes as fear. As control. As panic. I didn’t know how to be a father. But I knew I didn’t want to be my father. I hope you become a better man than I ever was. —Dad I folded the letter and put it back in the box. Then I went outside, lit a match, and burned the entire thing in the backyard firepit.

He handed me a piece of paper I took and opened it, I know that this letter came from my mom, I know it because I already memorized her handwriting. To my Son Off, I'm sorry for everything, for not being a good mother to you, I know that you are facing many challenges right now and I'm sorry I am no longer their team help you, I guess this time you should know how to stand with your fee, I don't want to leave you behind but I don't have a choice, I'm really tired. "I should. This is. this is something I must face." He ripped off the seal and tore the letter. It was from his father.
