If it was a competition, he didn’t stand a chance.
“Oh,” Sabrina said softly, her voice tinged with realization over something Denzel said.
She covered the phone’s receiver and turned to me on the bed. “What was the film about?” she asked, a hint of panic in her voice.
“I don’t know,” I said lazily, still sprawled on the bed.
It was a horror story with a romance subplot. I didn’t tell Sabrina that.
Sabrina looked away, a little panicky.
“I’m sorry, Denzel,” Sabrina said into the phone after uncovering it. “I honestly wasn’t watching. My life’s been a mess.”
