A Maid Was More Of A Calling Than A Princess Novels & Stories

Then she was gone, leaving Aria standing alone in the lobby, her hands shaking, her breath coming in short gasps. You don't belong in this world. Nobody. Replaceable. Out of your depth. The words echoed in her mind, each one a poisoned dart finding its mark. Because wasn't Victoria right? Wasn't she out of her depth? She was a former maid, a woman who'd lied and stolen and betrayed the man she loved. What business did she have thinking she could survive in Damien's world?

At Least a maid would have a share of her meal after she cooks and have a period where she would be off duty to take care of herself. But not her. She stays in the tiniest room in the house and sleeps on a narrow bed that gives her no space to turn easily on her side when sleeping, otherwise, she would fall off. She's the eldest but Emma lives more comfortably and satisfied than her. She does the entire chores in the house while Emma remains on the couch, and stays chatting and commenting on the latest events on social media. The real daughter they treated like a princess was not her but Emma. She's the maid and Emma is the princess, more domineering than the fairy tale princesses.

She complained and the maid casually dipped her fingers inside the water and it slowly became hot and much more comfortable for her. "Is this okay?" The Maid asked and Lia nodded with a smile.. Turns out having a witch as a maid isn't that bad. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she felt her tensed muscle relaxed immediately.. "Is there something going on that I don't know about?" Lia spoke with her eyes closed and the maids made eye contact with each other.. It wasn't in their place to say anything to the princess because they were under strict orders not to let the princess know what was going on with the prince..

Her voice was still calm. "Chloe," she said. "You always told me maids don't deserve to sit at the table. You threw your shoes at me to clean every morning. Now you are telling me I will leave? I already left your kitchen, Chloe. I am standing here as the heiress of this family. If a maid can become what you are desperate to be, what does that say about you?" Chloe's face turned red with anger and shame. "You are nothing!" Chloe shouted, losing control. "You are nothing without Adrian! You think wearing a black dress makes you an heiress?"

She was hungry, and she remembered the nice maids who sometimes gave her extra fruit. The kitchen was warm and busy. Steam rose from pots. The smell of fresh bread and porridge filled the air. Three maids worked at the counters … chopping vegetables, stirring pots, washing dishes. They looked up when Adele walked in. One of the older maids, a woman with graying hair named Mira, raised an eyebrow. “Well, look who’s here. The little princess. Shouldn’t you be with your mother or a nanny?” Adele tilted her head and gave a sweet smile. “Mommy had to go out. She said I should be a good girl and help if I can. Can I help?”

I should give myself time to make the right decision. Unbeknownst to me, I closed my eyes and fell asleep on a very soft bed. I woke up in the morning to a knock from a servant. "I am the new maid who will assist you in getting ready," she said from outside the door. I nodded as I sat up and headed towards the door to open it. Before me stood a maid in a servant's uniform. She looked about ten years older than me, I assumed. She looked at me before bowing to pay her respects. "Good morning, dear princess. I am assigned to be your lady's maid."

The Crown Prince loves poetry, but my legitimate elder sister, who wants nothing in this world so much as to be Crown Princess, hasn't an ounce of talent. My mother was born in a brothel, and because of her I grew up skilled in verse, music, and letters. So my sister turned her attention to me, and had me write the poems she sent to the Crown Prince. She promised that if I helped her become the Crown Princess, I'd become a true daughter of House Vale. Because my mother was only a mistress, I'd entered the house as nothing but my sister's maid. But once I'd made her Crown Princess, she repaid me with a cup of poisoned wine. Before I died, I heard her say: "Only with you dead will no one

The maids stood around, completely straight-faced and ready to literally wash my body for me. "I can't have my bath with all of you standing around," I said, swallowing hard as I forced myself to look each of them in the eye. "I'm so sorry, Princess. But we might lose our jobs if we don't obey—" "You won't," I nodded firmly, trying to give them my word, but it was like they weren't even listening to me. They wouldn't budge. "Princess..." The chief maid actually started to drop to her knees to beg me, but I reacted quickly, grabbing her arms and pulling her right back up so she wouldn't slip on the slick tile floor.

Madam Ashton barked startling her, "Oh don't you shed crocodile tears, answer me!" "I-" She hesitated for she couldn't call herself a st Clair, "I was a maid to the st Clair's." "Was?" Claire laughed, "And who told you you can't go back to being that? I do not know how you managed to grab Xander's attention, you probably thought you found a Prince Charming and you will get your fairy tale life but not on my watch! You can only be a princess to get Prince Charming not a haggard wretched thing."

she explained. "Why? Was it such a big deal to be a maid in the castle?" I asked, feeling confused. "It is because, aside from the salary and the benefits of working for Master Zion, the honor and privilege are much more important," she said, acting like a fan again. "I still didn't get it," I said. "Just forget about it, but if she only knew who you are, then she would feel dumb for insulting Master Zion's wife," she said.
