I shall read aloud the decree from His Majesty.” Instantly, all the accompanying knights dropped to their knees. Even the Count dismounted his horse; the old man sneered, leaning heavily against his cane as he bent one knee into the snow. Kaelus was entirely reluctant, but in the presence of an imperial decree, he had no choice but to dismount. The snow beneath his boots seemed to yield as the Northern ruler was forced to kneel before his sworn enemies.

His gaze fell upon a parchment that lay on his bedside table, adorned with the royal seal of King Maximilian. With a mix of curiosity and trepidation, Alexander reached out and unrolled the parchment, his eyes scanning the words that lay before him. The words etched upon the paper sent a chill down his spine. It was a royal decree, a restrictive notice that forbade him from leaving the kingdom of Arondale. I stepped forward. Slow and measured. Until we stood inches apart. “You mistake me,” I said. His smile faded. I placed the marriage decree on the table. Then drove a dagger through its center. Steel through parchment into oak. Gasps erupted. My voice carried through stone. “I do not take orders from thieves wearing titles.”

"Just recently I found out about a decree I supposedly signed and issued on an attack” He watched his uncle's face closely. Nothing changed, except the confusion that lit up before disappearing. “When I was just newly crowned, it came to my attention that I made a decree to wipe out an entire pack. Is there anything I don't know about that?" He asked. Desmond raised a brow before his face lit up with realization. “Yes, I remember that declaration. It was shocking to myself as well when it arrived. They had just begun to fight back on policies regarding our peace when your father died" his eyes dropped.

Author’s POV… Standing in his dominant, dangerous aura, instructing his men, how to rescue their queen. “Some of you will surround the house” he spoke in his cold voice. It felt like the old monster is back and ready to rule the world alongside his queen. “ Some will enter from backside and I also want a backup team, call all of our members. I will not leave, whoever was behind this.” he commanded further. Giving some more instructions, he shouted “MOVE YOUR ASS OUT NOW AND I DON’T WANT ANY MISTAKE. I WANT CALISTA WITHOUT ANY SCRATCHES OR YOU WILL SEE THE WORST IN ME”.

A royal decree. Lucretius broke the wax with practiced ease before unrolling the parchment. One of them said. Cade’s jaw worked, his teeth grinding with such force I feared they might shatter. He snatched the pen, his hand shaking so violently the stylus clattered against the table before he caught it. With an aggressive motion, he scrawled his signature across the four separate decrees.
