“Wouldn’t miss it,” I replied, taking a seat across from her. She was already nursing a cup of coffee, her eyes sparkling as usual, I smiled at how free she could be, if only I had the same courage she had and left home to breathe another air.
We ordered something light, a small salad and soup, and as soon as the waitress walked away, Ruth started digging into her food immediately making small talk. “What do you think about minimart?” She asked and I was taken aback by her question.
