Those little creatures were persistent in rebuilding their territory, but they’re not destroying wood, so… I just let it go. Perhaps they only wanted shelter. I stared at my desk. I smile. Perhaps it was simply that the building itself was better than he had known how to imagine, and the unnamed things were the evidence of that betterness. He closed the journal. He went to the sitting room. Don was on the sofa with his book—a new one, the fifth in the Greece preparation, a novel set in Athens in the 1940s that he had said he was reading for the texture of the period rather than the plot. I am so sorry for not updating this story T_T I've had a rough year. I basically moved to the USA from Nepal as an international student and the changes have been hectic. I am almost done with my freshman year. I live in New York, and everything is so fast-paced here that I even have difficulty breathing sometimes. I romanticized new york sm and am still romanticizing it. But in general, it is tough to survive here. I am a little more stable now so I will try to update the chapters on time. I have a lot of hopes for this novel in general. But I am not sure if I will make it. But I am not gonna give up. Please bear with me. Thank you so much for all the reads up until now. It doesn’t matter that I don’t see any; I’m aware of them now. I climb the stairs and can’t resist pushing on a door that’s partially open—cameras or no. Usually, it doesn’t take me long to collect what I need. This time we’re not in such high-risk international territory, just in our neighboring country, Canada. It’s not as big or long a mission as the one where I was looking for Liak. Thinking about him makes me take a deep breath again. He has small cottage there where you can get away from town awhile while he deals with this group of swindlers. A maid cleans the house every week and it is quiet and peaceful. Spring has come and the whole world is green and colorful sprouting new life.
