I bolted my door shut and rested my back behind it. My mind seemed to be in shambles as it tried to wrap around the things that had happened. I sat down on the floor of my room and tucked my knees in front of me. Screams and cries echoed throughout the castle and in response, I placed my hands over my ears to try and silence them. The things William said to me were not merely scary stories that mothers told their children— they are real. This is the reason my father is scared of them. They are not like us— they are the blood drinkers.

I ran my eyes down his face with a strong jaw and middle hair tucked behind his ears, Fredrick? I thought, how could this be? I must be dreaming. I had to take a breath before refocusing my gaze and when I finally saw who stood in front of me, my body went into shock. I remember when I was a little girl, my father would tell me horror stories about animals that lurked in the woods just outside our village, waiting to devour anyone who came out.

“Strange. Overtaken by the waters?” “No. Have you ever heard of the Moonlink pack?” “Who hasn’t?” I say. “An old nursing tale used to scare young wolves.” “And what if I told you the tale was true?” I turn to gape at him and a thrill runs through me. Was he always standing so close? “I would tell you you’re ridiculous.” I say, getting back on track. He smiles, a baring of teeth really. “They are real.” He says. For the umpteenth time in only so many hours I’m shocked.

With such a blank face, this man was talking to her about horror movies and ghost stories in a cemetery! Suddenly, she felt she was wrong about something. Today was not just an unlucky day for her; it was a disastrous day! Seeing Hailey’s pale face, Travis Blake’s anger instantly disappeared. “I think there’s something behind you,” he snapped. This made Hailey nervous. She found it difficult to breathe as goosebumps spread across her arms. She let out a scream and quickly wrapped all her limbs around Travis Blake’s body like a sticky octopus.

Sophia's heart raced as she looked into the figure's eyes, unable to make out their face in the dim lighting. She couldn't believe this was happening- a perfectly normal night had turned into a terrifying nightmare. She tried to run, but the stranger moved quickly, blocking her path. Fear paralyzed her as she realized there was no way out.

Alexander gushes in excitement. "Okay I will come." Rushes Amara. She wanted to get out of the devil's abode some way or the other. Nothing he speaks next goes inside Amara's head. "Alex I am feeling very frightened here. Everybody had gone out to watch a horror movie playing at a nearby theater and I am alone. Could you please come home instead of the driver to pick me?

Jones stared at Claire as she whispered, “What happened next?” Suddenly, she was a little girl again. He used to tell her scary stories about werewolves, vampires, fae, and warlocks. May hated it, but he couldn’t say no when his little niece looked up at him with big eyes and asked so politely for a story. He would always stopped at the climax, sighed dramatically, and say that it’s too scary. She would grab his hand and say she wasn’t scared, that she would be brave. She would ask, so excited, “What happened next?”

Kian's gaze finds me, and he extends his hand. "It's getting colder," he murmurs, a little cold in his tone. I stand and sit further from him, between Max and Doty, and they both smile at me. As the night went on, the guys told scary stories, which were really scary, like the horror films Mya makes me watch.

~Three Days Later~ ~Sunny’s Point of View~ “Mommy, can I ask you something,” I said. “Of course honey, what is it,” she said, brushing my hair. I loved that, it was so relaxing and it almost put me to sleep. “Who is the scary man that is around sometimes, why does he always stare at me,” I asked. “Oh … well sweetie he’s a vampire and he lives here,” she said. “He LIVES here?! Why does he live here, shouldn’t he be with others like him, won’t he hurt us,” I asked, horrified.
