One by one, they extended their hands over the cracked table, claws out, palms scarred with old marks of loyalty—but tonight, they carved new ones.
The cloaked wolf produced a blade from within his cloak, its edge jagged, its metal dark as oil. He pressed it to his palm without flinching, blood welling instantly. “A vow of silence. A vow of teeth. Until the Alpha falls, we speak of nothing but blood.”
The blade passed hand to hand, palm to palm, until every conspirator’s blood stained the stone.
